I'm voting for Ron Paul

I'm on my way to vote right now. After much deliberation, Ron Paul came out on top. I know there are other Ron Paul supporters on CGA, and I wanted to add my name to the list.

mine isnt till feb 5th i think, but im still goin for huckabee, but i'll root for ron paul if he gets into the race

You know the bit about him pardoning a serial rapist that went out and raped and killed two more women with his freedom? And the bit about him passing a ton of porkbarrel bills that gave a ton of money to special interest groups that didn't really need it? Or drastically overspending during his time leading Arkansas?

Even if you don't like Ron Paul, I think there are better choices than Huckabee that are running on basically the same platform.

I didn't vote for Huckabee simply because the guy gives me the willies. I was reading about his stance on the issues and looking at his picture, and he's not the good Christian man he says he is.

i know im not old enough to vote or anything like that but i dont like ron paul. i dont agree with getting rid of as many programs and things that he is! whats hes talking about is giving to much power to state and not as much to federal which isnt bad but getting rid of the programs he wants will make it so power isnt as spread out giving to much power to a group of people which is what we aimed for when we founded this country!
i dont know i could be wrong but thats what im seeing from the interviews ive seen on tv. im not sure who i am siding with. i actually dont really have a "person" that if i could id vote for but it wouldnt be ron paul

I don't follow your logic. Giving more power to state government and less to federal government spreads out power to more people, not fewer.

About the democrats, who is their strongest person? From what I've heard, there are only two contenders, Hillary and Obama. I've heard a lot of bad things about Hillary (emotional, flip-flop, telling people what they want to hear), and I know people won't vote for Obama because he's inexperienced and they're afraid of his muslim connections. So who is their strongest candidate?

I don't understand why people are making a big deal out of her being emotional, because she really isn't. She's excellent at playing for the camera and very charismatic which plays well for the general public. And as far as I know Obama is a Christian but in a very very Pro-Africa, Anti-White-America church. You can't really trust what you see on TV, or what campaign website say, or any of that nonsense. All you can go by is previous records of voting, policy or whatver. Everyone is about even in my book, and sadly to say I really can't be excited about anyone and still haven't bothered to register my new address with the election board. I'm very for voting, but I can't honestly say that any one of any of these candidates is going to make much of a difference, seeing as how none of them will get congress to do anything at all. Hulk Hogan maybe.

You can bet my wife and I will be voting for Ron Paul. My wife even switched to republican last month so she could vote for him

In general the Democrat party is wrong, some times there are good people in it that are just confused but for the main part The republican party is the party Jesus would join. so asking which one of them is their best guy is a kinda hard question because non of them are:p

I am not sure I agree with that. I think the democrats do a much better job of looking out for and thinking of the "poor and the widows" as Jesus commands us to do. If there were any Pro-life democrats running I might really consider them. But alas due to the lame 2-party system, pro-life only really fits on one side so I am somewhat forced into a republican candidate. (that being because a pro-life vote is extremely important to me)

define wrong? just because they have a different agenda, being wrong is something you need to be more careful of ;)

Yes im aware of that, and there have been many mistake pardons. ok hes made a few mistakes?? are we no different? Honestly i dont agree with Ron paul of several issues, the primary one is leaving iraq ASAP. forgive me but we need to stay the course and get it more secure then we can leave. i know charlie wilsons war has alot of political statements in it, but it provides a decent amount of truth that we go in, trying to fix stuff and we messed up the end game. we can do something just fine and be done with it, but leaving ASAP will leave them in a bad spot.

How exactly is it that the dems do a good job of looking out for the "poor and the widows?" I pray that you don't mean tethering them to the Federal government for their subsistence?.

Sure, Jesus teaches us to be charitable. And that's a good thing. Yet, the government has no business in being charitable with my money; which of course is what the dems push with all of their social welfare programs.

I agree that the way the Demos go about it is wrong, but at least they are making them a focus. I didn't say they do a good job, just a better one then the Repubs.

But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed,
because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just. [Luke 14:13 &14.]

I can see Demos inviting these ppl to the feast, I just don't feel warmly that Repubs would.

(of course this is huge generalizations)

the republican party is made by man..and i can guarantee you Jesus would not join ANY man made political party.

we never should have gone in there in the first place. Where did congress declare war according to the constitution? how about Afghanistan? ...(hears crickets). We have no constitutional business being there. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who is even close to taking hte constitution literally as it should be read.

i'll be conservative and say 75% of everything the federal gov't is against the constitution which makes it illegal. Upon further investigation it's probably higher. The constitution works like this..if it is not specifically and explicitly written into the constitution then it is not for the federal gov't to be doing. it's that simple.

I'm pretty sure Jesus would only join a theocratic party. When you're the Son of God, and can tap into ultimate truth and reality and the eternal present, voting for any human ruler would seem at best short-sighted. I imagine He would not be terribly bothered by human politics in the first place. When you've read the book of history (or in His case, written it), it's tough to be bothered by what happens on any particular page. Sort of reminds me of Doctor Manhattan, actually.

The rest of us have to make up our own minds. I'm not of the opinion that Christianity should be an extensive political force, rather, that we should vote according to our own beliefs and convictions regardless of the religion of the proposed candidates. That said, Dr. Paul is probably one of the most devout Christians running.
