I'll be honest, I don't really care :-P

The beta should be coming out for Halo 3, and that's the only game in the near future I see myself buying -- except Guild Wars, which I'll probably pick up tonight.

Microsoft and Bungie confirmed today that the new maps Max Hoberman, the former Halo 2 and Halo 3 multiplayer lead and founder of Certain Affinity, is working on will be re-makes of two classic Halo: Combat Evolved maps. The maps will be available as premium downloadable content for Xbox and Xbox 360 on April 17 for $4 (320 Microsoft Points).

Oh ho-ho!! Very cool -- I know I'll be picking those up. =)

You probably don't care since you don't have Xbox Live. :p

And you probably meant "the beta should be coming out for Halo 3", not Halo 2.

Great. Another forced microtransaction.

Although we aren't technically forced to make the purchase, if we try to log into a quick match or Optimatch, we will get the "you don't have all maps in the rotation" message. I am now going to be forced to buy at least 500 points (since that's the smallest increment they come in, for $6.25) in order to keep playing something that I play already for free.

Please, if I'm wrong about this, tell me.

How they'll be selling them remains to be seen -- I'm assuming it'll work the same way Premium Content on Xbox worked, where you just payed for that item (i.e. without Microsoft Points). That way both 360 and non-360 users can buy it, since the whole Marketplace thing is a 360 technology.

I think it's exclusive content for the Xbox 360. I'm not possitive on that. SirThom, that banner you posted on the Forza Thread... I'm pretty sure on the bottom (The advertisment for Halo.) it stated it will be exclusive to Xbox 360 and the marketplace.

Nope, they were originally going to be for the 360 only. Here's a quote:

On November 15, 2006, Bungie stated that they intended to release new Halo 2 multiplayer maps that would be accessible only to Xbox 360 users[45] and later announced the maps would be developed by Certain Affinity.[46] On March 30, 2007, Bungie announced the two new maps will be available on April 17, 2007 for $4. Unlike previously announced, Bungie's own Frank O'Connor confirmed that both XboxXbox 360 users would have access to the content.[47]

Halo 2 stats

I just noticed at Bungie.net, they updated there stats interface. They now show kill and deaths, as well as show each game in a easier to use interface. Check mine out in my sig.

Guitar Hero II Today!!

I think I'm going to start out by letting my son play so I can get the 10 point achievement for failing a song on Easy. Thom, I know you have it preordered... I hope you did so from Circuit City, which is giving out a 1600 Point card with purchase.

Yes, get GH II from Circuit City and your first 15 or so downloadable songs will be free.

P.S. TROGDOOOOOOORRRRR!!!!!!
