Do you ever feel that the bible is bull?

... I'm really starting to doubt the exitsence of god. I know the bible is supposed to enlighted people, but all it really enlightened me to is to how phoney the whole thing is.
 
What about it makes you feel that way? What made you come to that conclusion?

I am moving this thread over to the religious discussion as this area is to discuss a daily Bible Reading plan. I hope you don't mind.
 
I have always believed in the Bible (As Gods Word), but I must admit that I misunderstood what it was saying many... many... times. I guess my own ignorance and lack of digging into the Bible was the cause of why I was so legalistic of others when I was younger, I was very judgemental and untrusting of others, to a very unhealthy degree. Yet I called myself a Christian... even though I did not live it...

archeology proves the Bible's accuracy more and more. Many of the rulers and town ruins have been found and dated to the times of the writings..so I would have to say far from it.

Umm. Well dude. What do you mean "it is for the enlightened people?" I don't believe I am enlightened. And be sure Sagan doesn't come in here and read this one, har har! (Sagan, I kid I kid).
Now if you mean enlightened as to who God is and says He is, yeah I'm definitely enlightened. If you mean enlightened in that I have seen past this world and know that Jesus is God, then yeah I'm enlightened. If you mean I'm to be a light to this world, then, well, uh...I needa work on that enlightenment. I try, I seriously do, but I fail often.

What is it you want us to tell you? Of our faith? Our doubts? Our agreements? Our debates? Our questions? What is it you want us to know?
What makes you doubt God's existence and the validity of the Bible? You gotta tell us what makes it so phony, because lately I haven't found any phoniness. If you mean Christians are phony, then, yeah, I agree with you: many "Christians" are hypocrites, or liars. One or the other. Sometimes both. I do believe that indeed, in reality, there are fewer Christians than the numbers say. A lot fewer.
Tell us what you know. Tell us your problems. Let us try and help you out Mantorok.

No i never do. Everytime God uses it to talk to me just reminds me of its relevance to everything in my life. Im assuming you havent had God speak to you latly if you believe that its bull.
