Actually, I was asked by Tek at the time to not step down until a replacement could be found. Not a big deal though.

Copy that. And, I don't think the controller is the revolutionary aspect of the Revolution. I think there's one missing piece to this whole thing which we'll see at E3.

Yeah I think so too, Sony and Microsoft's eyetoy and camera add on are too close to the revolution controller for Nintendo to use that as the only distinguishing difference.

You mean the controller that will revolutionize gaming as we know it?

Watch as the Xbox 720 (or whatever Microsoft decides to label it) and the Playstation 4 incorporate the same technology (assuming Microsoft and Sony don't decide to do it this generation).

Some great stuff is going to come about because of that controller. Watch.

No, I won't. It is crappy. It is a stupid remote with a power button *kudos for nintendo*. I heard you have to move your body to work it (besides your fingers-I mean getting up and moving). If I want to do that I will go outside and get some fresh air.

Lemme say it once more: it is crappy. Just because it looks different and has a power button and needs to be held in two hands doesn't mean it'll change gaming as we know it forever. Heck, if MS and Sony change their controllers that way, I'll give up console gaming for good.

You really need to read more about it. The fact that you've made an erroneous assumption about how it works reveals that you took a quick glance at it and passed judgement on it without further inquiry.

The remote has gyroscopic sensors in it so it can sense tilt (this would require ONLY twisting the remote), and it also sends a signal to sensors placed alongside your TV. You don't have to "get up" to operate the remote. It's going to combine the best aspects of controlling a FPS with a controller (ie movement) and the best aspects of controlling a FPS with a mouse (ie aiming).

It will revolutionize the way we play videogames and break the videogame world out of its current duldrums.

I suggest you actually read about the remote instead of taking one quick look and judging it. You'll be using it on your beloved PC in less than five years.

IT IS A REMOTE!!!! DID YOU NOT READ THAT?!?!

[/rant]

Ok. And btw, no i will not. It would be difficult for anyone but kids-teens to use controllers entirely for PC and consoles. Why you said that mystifies me. Controllers never really got really big (game pads, controllers, same same) with the PC, not nearly as much as a mouse. If I had to use that crud for my PC I'd go get a job (I'd be driving and stuff by then) and have a life :p

Yes, it is a remote in a sense that you are controlling something else remotely. All game controllers are like that.

You should watch this video to see just how this controller can be used:

Note: none of the methods shown in that video "require" you to get out of your chair.

It looks like/resembles/is a remote. While I think the power button is a much-appreciated... thing, the concept is not that great

I see you have the Jedi Knight series logo as your avatar. Imagine being able to control the lightsaber like you would actually control a sword, instead of using the (soon to be archaic) mouse and keyboard setup. It's leaps and bounds more intuitive.

I'll pre-order your crow pie. :D

Hey, i'm also free after 4 on weekdays and any time Saturday usually. And on Sunday between church sessions. BTW, I dont remember if I said I have Crimson Skies, but I have that as well. :) I've been trying to get a job to pay for an Xbox 360, and I just became old enough to work at Gamestop, which would be an awesome job. At my age, anyways. :)

Uh, I'm *sitting* at a *small* computer space. How would that help?

And why do you think that after a decade of console controllers being played alongside the mouse and keyboard will be virtually gotten rid of? If you don't think this, explain, because I don't get it. What would people in businesses use for everything else? (writing papers and stuff) For a computer, the mouse and keyboard will remain the universal practical system. *grabs a crow pie and beams meridian flight in the kisser with it*

hooah

I'm referring to the use of a keyboard and mouse with regards to videogames. Of course a videogame controller isn't going to replace the keyboard for purposes outside of videogames.

Come on though. You know swinging a lightsaber would rock. Oh yeah, I put "Return to Sender" on that odd looking box that got beamed to me.

Sorry, that box was a distraction for this! *sends out crow army, which forces themselves down meridian's mouth as he screams in terror*

Let me reiterate that I am SITTING at a SMALL computer DESK.

And frankly I really do prefer the keyboard/mouse over a controller, especially for FPSs and RTSs. I mean, for one: a Real Time Strategy involving the use of a controller would suck, and I can aim 347.2% better with a mouse than with a controller because of the better manual control of a mouse. I mean, it gives me pinpoint precision, while with a controller I tediously go back and forth with that darn joystick to get an aim on my attackers head.

Actually, I could imagine a Revolution controller taking up less space than a mouse and keyboard while it's in motion.

Also, I think the Revolution controller would be excellent for FPSs and RTSs. Imagine moving your wrist to aim (not a joystick)...it would be much more realistic then dragging a piece of plastic across your desk. Or for RTSs: Selecting units? Just drag a box in the air. Want them to attack those bad guys over there? Just point at them and push a button.

Simple.

Also, to say it again, all you have to do is rotate your wrist, not full arm motions. So really, it doesn't take up that much space anyway.

Well on a console controller you just have to move your finger to aim, but does that help? no. I find precision to lie in the hands, erm, "paws" of a mouse

And besides, we'd need to keep the keyboard and mouse anyway, for everything else. And I stand firm in believing that click and drag is better for exact unit selection than a remotelike controller.

Why do you guys think they'll have this crud for the PC anyhow? Did some computer company announce that they'd adopt that idea for their computers?
