Almost had it

I was about 3 min away from getting an XBOX 360 today, 10 of them came to target this morning and i just missed the last one:(
 
Halo 2 + XBConnect

Anyone still playing Halo 2? Just wondering..I've recently dusted off my xbox and begun playing online again. I'm currently using XBConnect to play online, because my xbox is modded and I'm not sure of the status of my xbox live account.

Would anyone be interested in playing some Halo 2 over XBConnect with me? It's very easy to use XBConnect, pretty much all you have to do is select a game in the program GUI (On your computer), and then go into the system link menu in the game, and wait for the game to appear.

My nickname in XBConnect is Pilgrim03. :)
 
I'm on XBL at least 5x a week. I did download XBC and tried a session. I immediately ran into a modder and haven't been back for any random games since. I'll give it another shot if you need someone to scrimmage against. I could probably get one or two others from my clan as well.

I'm not that familiar with the whole XBC experience so be patient.:)
 
Halo 2 Groups

All,

I've been looking for a good group of Christian gamers to play Halo 2 with. I've found a home within a clan at GeezerGamers.com that conduct themselves with great sportsmanship and such, but I'd still like to get together with some Christ minded folks.

Is anyone interested in playing sometime or know of other areas to congregate?

Cool..do you mean a cheater? I guess I'm a 'modder'..since my xbox is modded? Modding my xbox and cheating are two completely different things though..

I've read about several hardware problems with the first XBox 360 model, so don't be too upset that you have to wait. I'd recommend postponing the purchase until Microsoft fixes the major hardware bugs and releases a new model.
 
Or even better yet, wait and see if microsoft releases a water cooled version of the 360. Sure it might be a bit more costly, but i'd buy it, much better on cooling, since repordatly, several people have installed water cooling.
 
Talon, I don't think Microsoft would do that. Possibly in an updated version (they did something similar to the cooling system in the XBox three years ago, I believe), but that would split the Xbox 360 into four separate versions, which would create further confusion.

Reports have the loss Microsoft is taking on each 360 at almost 200 dollars, so don't expect a price drop anytime soon, especially if the PS3 requires a second-mortgage to purchase (as Microsoft wouldn't be pressured to lower the price then).
 
The gamertag will automatically renew itself. If you're not using your account anymore, you should contact M$ to cancel your account if you don't want it to auto renew.

I'd have to install XBConnect again, but I have everything networked, so I would be able to play online without Live. I usually play on Xbox Live though. Of course lately I've been addicted to WOW, so my Xbox hasn't been getting quite as much usage.
 
Hmm..MS emailed me to give them a new cc number, to 'protect' my gamertag, and I never responded.

Yeah, I've been pretty busy too..haven't touched my xbox since I made the post. -_-
 
You know, I've heard a lot of people supposedly have problems, but I've yet to run into one. Everyone I know hasn't had any problems with their 360 (myself included). I've asked people when playing on Live and none of them have reported any problems.
 
Getting back in the game

Well, my birthday is coming up, and I am seeing this as an excellent opportunity to get another Xbox. As many of you may know, I already have one, but it is modded and thus banned from Xbox Live, so this new Xbox will be used specifically for Xbox Live and some local System Link action.

With the new Xbox, I hope to bring this chapter back to life (if it ever really was alive, that is) so that we may grow this great community.

That being said, who wants to add me to their Friends list? =) My GamerTag is SirThom if you want to check it out. Currently, I only have Halo 2 for Xbox Live, but that shall also change soon. I'm looking to add Counter-Strike, Crimson Skies, Star Wars: Battlefront (2?), and possibly some others. Got any suggestions?

If anyone needs their game list changed, let me know.

It's gonna be great to get back into the game.

I have Battlefront 2, but I haven't taken it for a spin on Xbox Live! yet.
 
Hmm..I may have to look into getting another xbox as well. Actually, I could probably just un-softmod mine, as I have backups of the hard drive.

Because we enjoy using what Microsoft gave us. =) Xbox Live, or the lack thereof, is the only tradeoff to modding the Xbox.
