(sorry about editing your post, I didn't make any changes to it, I just accidentally hit the Edit button instead of the Quote button without realizing it)

I agree, but unfortunately there aren't any planned that I'm aware of. I'm sure there will be for Xbox 360 though.

Phantasy Star Online is a fun addictive RPG hack-n-slash RPG though. You can pick up a used copy pretty cheap now, and the first three months are free (it's tied into your Live account, so you can still get the free 3 months with a used copy). After that, you can cancel and play offline or you can choose to do what I do and pay for months every once in a while.

Another great game that has multiplayer RPG elements to it is Phantom Dust. It just came out and is only $20. The RPG storyline is single player offline only, but you find/earn skills offline and then you take them online for battle. People compare it to trading card games, but that's misleading because it's real time battle. It's a difficult game to describe because it's very unique, but a lot of fun.

For some of the best offline RPGs, you have Morrowind, Fable, Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, and Jade Empire.

I personally loved the Knights of the Old Republic games, but I didn't care much for Morrowind and Fable because of some of the in-game content. I haven't played Jade Empire yet, but I've heard that it is currently the best RPG for the Xbox.

To fulfill my MMORPG fix, I just picked up Guild Wars for the PC. The system requirements aren't too steep and there's no monthly fee. Now I just have to find time to play. :)

Out of town

I'm going to be out of town this weekend. If anyone has any questions or problems related to the Xbox chapter of TOJ, please contact SirThom.

Guild wars requires no online fee? That is Awesome, is it 50.00? if soo i'm gonna pick me up a copy sometime soon.
i Don't know how the game works or anything is it a first person rpg? Hey tolkien when i pick it up we will have to play together. i'm a bit short on cash considering i no longer have a job :( but i'll eventually get it.

BTW, what are The system req.

My Comp at my house is pretty slow...
And it would suck to have to barrow my dad's comp.

the minimun reqs for guildwars is

windows 98/ME/2000/XP
intel pentium 3 800 Mhz or equivalent
256 MB of RAM
CD-ROM drive
2GB available harddrive space
32MB graphics card(i can list the chipsets that the game supports if you want)

also, guild wars has a first person and behind the back view. But in first person view there arnt any weapon/arm animations....I mainly use it to look around at the pretty enviorments :D

My System Specs are :
32 mhz shared video
256 mhz of ram
1100 mhz tbird amd proccessor.
So i think i must meet the minimum requirements.
I'll have to buy me a video card pretty soon here.

might also think about getting a bit more ram there ;)

hmmm, the game from a christians perspective. I dont really find anything bad about the game...they have a built in chat filter so people cursing isnt a problem...havent seen any blood but im not sure, ill have to look closer(for those who care about that)

and i never played WoW....never was into warcraft and the fact that there was a subscription fee(for a blizzard game!!!! >=|) threw me away from it. Also i dont like the look of it, it looks a bit cartoonish from what ive seen.

Greetings from 'Down Under'

Hi all.

I'm a new member from Western Australia!

I have just signed up on CGA (and TOJ) and have only been on XBOX Live for about a week or so. Some may think I'm a bit old to be playing xbox games (I'm 40) but I really enjoy it and so do my four kids. My son (11) and I play quite a few games together.

We currently have two xboxes and two live subscriptions (ZONEBandit = mine, Garabian = my son's) and a reasonable speed ADSL connection so we can both go 'Live' at the same time.... and I can keep a bit of a eye out for him (in regards to foul language and other related issues).

Current games: Midtown Madness 3, Burnout 3, MechAssault, Crimson Skies, Top Spin, Halo 2 (coming).

We would really like to add some Christians to our Friends list but are also aware that most of you are in the States and we are about 10 -12 hours ahead of you so we probably won't 'see' you online very often. This means however, if you organise an event on Friday night, we can participate on Saturday morning, our time, etc.

Would love to hear from some of you: Please add us to your friends list.

In His Love,
Peter

Hey, glad to have you here. But, remember that the PC gamers would like to have you too. I have an X-Box, but don't want to put out a subscription fee. That's why I use the 'cheaper' version of 'X-Box Live'.

Hey phantom, I understand that the PC gamers would like to "have me" too but I actually don't have any decent PC games for my PC because it's actually a laptop and isn't built for gaming: it gets too hot if I push the graphics hard.

I recently purchased two Xbox live starter kits (headset & 12 month subscription) on special for AU$49.95 each (about $39.00 US dollars). Considering the headset normally costs this much, it seemed like a good deal to me...... :)

Blessings!
