2012 Christian LAN event?

Id love to join this...aka go and help but not host one myself.

But seattle would work or even california somewheres. East coast sounds too hot and a lot of work to ship my computer over there....(Its a beast)

But yes west coast would be tight!

Are we looking at having one on West, Mid and Eastern parts of the US?

I think if it could be planned, yes. (Tek, please correct me if I am wrong)

Personally, having three held at the same time would be cool. :)

I also vote for a fund to be started to fly Tek to all three. :)

I think a lot will depend on space/timing.

I pray something comes together it would be most awesome. :D

With that much time to plan ahead, I'm sure I could attend/help out with something on the West Coast.

Getting Tek to all of them if possible is something I'd support too. :)

If none of the West Coast people have any convenient locations they know of to offer off-hand, it looks like http://www.pinkgorillagames.com/ in Seattle has its hands in a lot of gaming events, big and small, that go on there and might be a possible place to ask about resources or referrals if anyone local wants to give them a call.

Other cities likely have similar places that can be inquired with too, but since Seattle is the one I've seen specifically mentioned here so far, that's the one I looked up.

Wow. I got two attendees already. I guess I should plan more.

You should! Once a date is set, I'd be willing to help set up carpools or stuffs like that or whatever else needs to be planned (I have no idea why I'm volunteering for stuff....).

Am I one of those two? :D

That is correct!

I'm willing to help plan, organize, and promote any CGA LAN events in areas where trusted community members are willing to put in the effort.

As much as I appreciate the sentiment (and I really do), one plane ticket alone would cost as much as a year's worth of dedicated server hosting. It's a very kind thought, but I don't think it would be feasible.

Now I do hope to organize a CGA LAN event closer to home (i.e. in Missouri or Oklahoma), but that will depend on other community members near where I live.

Who said anything about using real money? Air miles. :) I'm sure between all of the members we could use a few to bump you around. :)

I need to know if there will be enough of a gamer base on the West coast to see if putting one together is feasible. How many people on this side of the continent would be able/want to attend?

I already cleared it with my husband to be able to go and possibly even help out with some of the planning and preparations if need be. Of course I'll be bringing him with me because I'm not going to leave him at home alone while making a trip of this magnitude, but he's not much of a people person so he probably won't want to be much involved himself. So anyways, you can count me in at least.

Depend on when and where I am interested on a West Coast banaza.

/bump

We already have a New York CGA LAN event in the works. I'd like to help plan a Missouri CGA LAN if my schedule allows and there's been talk of a west coast LAN.

Let's keep the conversation going!

I'm still interested in helping with West Coast planning and implementation, but a bit set back at the moment due to losing my main source of employment last month. On the one hand that frees me up for more time and labor, but on the other makes it harder to commit to long distance travel or anything else requiring concrete resources, so I'm working on fixing that problem at the moment.

Just saw this thread for the first time. I'd love to do a west coast event... My brother and I could even host it. Our internet is top of the line... Except we live in a 1 bedroom apartment lol.

I was just in Santa Rosa a few days ago and noticed what looked to be a pretty sizeable local game shop at, I think, around 7th and Mendocino? Maybe that might be an option where something can be worked out.

I don't live in Santa Rosa myself (though I'm working on getting there), but I'm close by and have family there so that's definitely a place I can support and help out, and I think we have quite a few other members who live in the general area.

Here is the place:

Maybe someone local can drop by to see it and talk to someone about possiblities? Yahoo information notes under their services: "Open gaming space, regular tournaments, special events by reservation"

If we can't do LAN there, we could probably at least do some kind of Table-top gaming, as I saw they did have seem to have a lot of table space to facilitate that from what I was able to see through the window. Unfortunately I was hurrying through to catch a bus at the time so I couldn't take more time to look around when I found it.

haha! I was just up the road at the Kaiser yesterday. I was literally 5 minutes away from there! I drive by that place all the time, albeit I never knew it existed, but totally know the area. Safeway and Starbucks are right near by, for all your Mountain Dew Code Red and coffee related fixes as well as a church I used to go to. Plus Chevy's!

So, any volunteers to plan and manage a west coast LAN? I can certainly assist as my schedule allows, but it would be best if someone local led the effort.
