    CGA-CON 2

Six Flags is closer to me :p I just told my mom that my friends and I want to go on a trip this summer, but she said she might not be able to pay for that... That means that this trip, which I haven't suggested to her yet, is probably out of the question. College is going to drain our pockets >.>

    Proposing an SoE Alliance Vacation:

I think it's about time that some SoE folks meet together in person on a real vacation. Perhaps a theme park or something [Six Flags Over Texas in Dallas, TX?]. I know there's always a bit of concern that goes hand in hand with meeting people from online in person, so it's probably best that...

"Surprise! Here comes the future!" or "Military? Me? Really?!" or "Air Force?"

Well now I'm trying to decide whether to go into AFROTC or not... It seems perfectly fine, since they apparently don't function like the Corps at Texas A&M (get up at 5:30, excercise, breakfast, classes, excercise, dinner, homework, lights out [rinse, lather, repeat])... Apparently the only...

"Surprise! Here comes the future!" or "Military? Me? Really?!" or "Air Force?"

I see from responses (both in the thread and through PMs) that my delivery of this idea was a bit unclear... i.e.: "minions" - originally a total joke, understanding fully that nobody will be my minion (and that I will be subserviant to higher ranks for a long, painful time) Also, none of my...

"Surprise! Here comes the future!" or "Military? Me? Really?!" or "Air Force?"

I'd like to congratulate those of you who actually are reading this post after having read the massive, non-page-turner novel in the previous one. And thanks for your input. :P And yes, I did fail to mention the one and only reason anybody I know would consider me not going to be a pilot...

"Surprise! Here comes the future!" or "Military? Me? Really?!" or "Air Force?"

So I'm probably the very last person you could ever see even considering anything to possibly do with the military... ever. But my aspiration in career choice has (for quite some time) been in aeronautics, aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, and engineering in general. I think...

Who would have thought that piano playing could be so hard?

Well one cadenza down, one to go... And this one isn't looking as easy.

    Test your hearing here.

nobody can ever hear me, which has become quite a problem since I've gotten into stage acting... "Louder, please!" *shouts violently* "Still can't hear you!" *loses voice* "What?" *gasp, gasp* :P

Who would have thought that piano playing could be so hard?

Interesting. Well I now have 3.25 pages (three pages and one of four lines on the 4th page) by memory, but still not worth playing for an audience. (Just because I know what notes to hit doesn't mean I can hit them all and most of it is way under tempo.)

Who would have thought that piano playing could be so hard?

<If you heard me try to play the Liszt you would probably change your mind.> I'm going to practice the Liszt every day this week... Except Wednesday and Thursday, since I'll be out of town and beyond the reach of a piano. xD

A novel idea... if only time would permit.

Actually I've played CoD 4 and CoD: WaW, but neither one is U.S. Army in Europe... I may have to put my main character and his brother somewhere other than Europe for a while, though, since I intended to have them join the Army in 1941 but D-Day wasn't until 1944...

Who would have thought that piano playing could be so hard?

Surprise! 11 pages of epic beauty is mine to learn (for the next few years). Un Sospiro, the famous Liszt piece. I thought it was all one pretty jumble of arpeggio spam, which I figured would be relatively easy. And I knew that my hands would be crossing over each other to play the melody...

Hehe I like how this thread is evolving: Don't go for the fluffy extras before you finish. Well okay... I'll try not to let my desire for fluffiness beat out my story. I guess I'll evaluate it this way: Fluffy stuff fits with the plot? Good. Keep it. Fluffy stuff won't work with the plot...

The good Shepherd, A question of responsibility

I quit my old church because it had obvious mega church syndrome. They built a new church building and guess how they attract people to the youth group? The foyer to the youth room has a ceiling covered in several colors of neon lights at random angles, there are two huge flatscreen TVs with...

Is it a sin for me to keep playing WoW?

This totally clears things up... Some things are not bad in and of themselves, but the whole point is not to overindulge... Don't do something at all if it starts to become too much of a good thing. It will always develop into a sort of idol worship. However, take that with the knowledge that...

A novel idea... if only time would permit.

Oh how many ideas i have just had that i must implement! I'll begin with the dedication page. I honestly don't like dedication pages. For ___? Shouldn't I, as a Christian, be writing for God? Shouldn't I ask God to help me with everything I do? "me oportet scribere Deo." - "It is necessary...

Well, the artwork will be courtesy a friend of mine who is an excellent artist, and as of yet, I haven't worked on the art part (although I'm anxious to get one specific picture soon for a sample and something to work with...). I have started writing, but again, school and other entanglements...

    My first attempt

I thought you said "modern prose" not "poetry" -.o Aside from my... general disliking for poetry... I like it! Cute. :P I love the mathematical theme.

A novel idea... if only time would permit.

Once again I find myself with an NRW (novel, ready to write [insert military MRE reference here]) and no time in which to write it. This one is best described as a "what if I were in this situation" thing... where the character representing my personality is thrust forcefully into a heavy duty...

    Cornify your life!

I'm toying with the idea of sending this link to my friend who will probably explode upon seeing her obsession: the unicorn.
