Test your hearing here.

Sound card quality can affect the test :( Sometimes the low tones would play, and then clicking the same box all I would get is a click. :(

I have my sound card cutoff to all sounds below -20db, 12khz was the only level I could not hear, 16khz at -6db almost gave me a headache, have to agree with Gods Peon, the quality and settings of your sound card will affect the test results, but a nice find :)

So this isn't one of those prank sites where you sit really still and focus intently on your monitor, only to have a creepy image pop up on the screen?

I got burned by one of those links. One time. Never again.

But based on the replies I've read so far (and the domain in the link ending in a .edu), this looks legit.

of course not, but its something to do!

Everyone has different headphones and sound systems etc etc... of course it isnt a real one.

but its cool to see how you do.

I have always thought I had a problem with lower frequencies though. Just certain men's voices I can hardly understand what they're saying. I noticed that at least since early high school. Fortunately, Tek has a strong voice which carries well...so I have no problems with him. ^^

'Tis true. Even as a youngin', I would be the one to get in trouble for talking in class because my voice carried too well.

nobody can ever hear me, which has become quite a problem since I've gotten into stage acting...

"Louder, please!"
*shouts violently*
"Still can't hear you!"
*loses voice*
"What?"
*gasp, gasp*

:P
