YAY!

I had been posting on the CGA as RuluSmoo, but due to several things about IRL and gaming, I'm dropping that name forever. For the past 4 years, I had been a member of the gaming clan, The Combine (aka Feral Uprising aka Ganked Again). They are a PvP multi-gaming guild and are almost always playing with DDH, Sinister, The Cabal, SUN, Fatalis, Conquest, and/or Covetous Crew. I'm not sure if any of you have ever heard of any of them, but if you have, then you should truly understand my decision to leave my clan and dump my past.

Little over 10 months ago, I got saved and have been trying to grow in Christ and follow him. Unfortunately, I found that whenever I would play with my normal crew, I would start to slip into my old habits. Even just hanging out in Ventrillo with them would have me falling. I wasn't happy with my behavior at all and prayed that God would help me find some Christian friends that I could play with. Not long after that, I stumbled on the CGA while looking for places to request prayer, for my church who was setting up a Shelter for Katrina refugees. I agreed with all your beliefs and contacted Hawk about possibly re-rolling on Terenas if my computer, which had been broken since April, ever got fixed. IRL has been to busy to even allow me to think about playing WoW, so my gaming computer was kept on blocks, but things are pretty close to normal again and I've got the itch back. The guy who is working on my computer just told me that it should be fixed on Wednesday, so unless something dreadful happens, I'll be able to start playing on Thursday.

I had played WoW in closed beta as a Rogue (Ruvio) and a Druid (Rulu). For release I played on Archimonde as a Hunter (Dizzy) and a Druid (Rulu). All of my experience, playing WoW, is Horde PvP. Alliance will be all new to me and I am sure I will have to get over a "culture shock" from playing on a PvE server. I am a fast learner and usually adapt quickly; however, even though I will try to figure things out on my own, I may still need help. I will be rolling a Gnome Rogue; I really miss playing the class that I had been playing since EverQuest and Dark Age of Camelot. I can't wait to start playing again, I hope to see you all soon and I'm very excited about the possibility of playing WoW in a Christian environment!

That would be cool. Most people that have characters on other servers are thinking about using character transfer service, but of course you are horde so thats not gona work. (I was going to suggest this.) But you would be welcome. :)

Wow, good to hear from ya again. We are looking forward to having you aboard. Hopefully we'll see you soon!

There are several of us in the guild, myself included, who have switched servers to join a christian guild:). We are happy to have you. We have all levels of players too, so you will fit right in:)

Dalani, 60 druid on Bloodhoof
Tinie, 36 warrior on Terenas

Hello my brother!

I can relate to what you are talking about ... I have played WOW in a top guild and I know of the compromises one can make, especially on vent and especially dealing with profanity and slandering/manipulating one another.

I am off WOW for a week while on vacation but msg me ingame sometime or post your player name on Terenas here.

I have 2 60 paladins ... Demetri and Demetrius.

Hi to rest of you... my wife and I are in Vail, CO this week ... and guess what??? It SNOWED tonight!

Cya soon,
Kevin

Hey, kevin... You had SNOW??? In COLORADO??? WOW!!! We, up in the legendary great white north..... are barely even getting FROST :P lol

>>>Brian.. WELCOME :D

We are in the Vail, CO area at 7400 feet, the city of Avon next to Beaver Creek. We can see snow in the mountains this morning ... just a dusting on the ground. It is beautiful to see along with the changing colors of the aspen trees.

I think the temp got down to the high 20s last night at this altitude. Brrrrrr

Kevin

I haven't seen snow since 1999, when I lived in Wisconsin. I moved to Arizona after that and just recently came to Louisiana. I'm hoping I get to see snow here, but I'm doubting it will be anything compared to what I saw while in Alaska. lol, I grew up as an Air Force brat! Anyway, I really miss having snow that I can actually do something in- sled, snowboard, etc.

Right now I am (im)patiently waiting for my friend to deliver my computer to me. He's supposed to come here tonight, but he was supposed to be here an hour ago and I can't contact him. If it gets here, I'll be able to set it up tonight so I can reinstall and patch. Then I'll make my toon late tonight so I can set up my all my lua macros, mods, and my ui. I'll see you all soon and I hope you're having fun in the snow.

Ooooo, my german shepherd is going nuts, he must have just pulled in the driveway!

*edit: patching right now. :) Can't wait to get in game and at least set up my stuff. Prolly won't play till "tomorrow" since it's almost 2am. Yeah, I'm excited! lol

Hehe... now I am confused.

I admit it... I am a blog junkie. A bad one. I... never mind.

Hi. My name's John. (Hi, John!!!!!)

I... I have a problem.

I read blogs.

But... I... I... I CAN overcome it. I.... I can!!

Anyhow, I have a question, a minor one. Should it be "Welcome, brother!", or "Welcome, sister!"? ;)

Either way, it is always a great joy to read about someone who is committed to learning and following the Lord in all that they do. /warmfuzzys

John den Otter (Neirai)

P.S. if you are indeed female... as "Brian on Vacation" seems to disagree with but "Mandy" seems to agree with... We have quite a few female sisters of every age active in our guild.
Tinie: Angie
Lunarmyst: Kate
Samsun: Kaitlyn
Yaone: Christi except when I am playing her which is all the time
Squitzgal: My younger sister, Rachel
Reladria: Kelly
Amoras: Jazzy
Bairead: Tammi
and the mighty Wend: Anita

and then there is Deedlyt, who only THINKS he is female...

I created my character and am still tweaking my ui, but things are looking good. My name is Rous, because I sat there for 30mins trying to find a name that I could either get through the filter or wasn't already taken. I saw my "The Princess Bride" movie sitting on my shelf and remembered the Rodents of Unusual Size from it. I figured that gnomes are pretty closely related to rodents and that ROUS would be just fine for a name. I'll see if I can contact anyone in game. :)

*Neirai: lol Yes, I am a girl, so it would be hello sister. I usualy don't even bother telling people if I am or not, because 90% of them will still be convinced that I am a guy until they get to know me better; at least that is my experience from gaming in a PvP/RTS/FPS enviroment. Brain on Vacation was a name I thought up this summer to make my friends laugh, since I am usualy their comic relief. I worked at a Christian summer camp with them and they were all hooked on this Xanga blog thing. They made me make one as well and now I'm hooked too.

ehhhh errrr doh!

Hello my sister! Good catch John...

I take it your name is Mandy, right? I have noticed many people use our real names often, which is not typical of other guilds, but I like it.

Grats on the new gnome rogue! See you online next week...

Kevin (Demetrius)

Its nice because we have your real name listed next to your character name under the guild tab -> Show Guild Status. Yup, its nice to be called your real name by other guild members.

"I figured that gnomes are pretty closely related to rodents"

!!!

Tinie the Fierce Gnome Warrior, who is NOT related to rodents in ANY way:)

Nice to have ya sis:)

Heh heh heh :_

It's been a Loooooonnnnggg while since my leksdixia has flared up.

I've been reading, over and over and over again, BRIAN on vacation... not BRAIN on vacation..... :P

wow. :$

DYSLEXICS OF THE WORLD UNTIE!!!!!

I'm actually leksdi--- err dyslexic, but only slightly... it runs in my family, with my sister having the worst of it, but none of us are bad enough that we are classified as dyslexic (meaning we cannot read).

The dyslexia test:

Forensics.... does the s come before the e?
Can you say Manipulative?
or how about specific? do you say pacific?

:) lol

The problem with most dyslexic tests is that you are aware you are taking them, and concentrate more than usual to perform correctly. I have a slight case as well but it only pops up when I am not concentrating, which I learned to do all the time less I got teased constantly in school when I was growing up.
