I am interested to know why two people opted for the 'no' answer.

Granted, I don't want/need/no interested in knowing who they are, I just want to understand their intentions.

Windows7 is such a nice improvement over Vista...

I voted no because I read gamers don't need to upgrade just yet.

My mind changed tonight when my dad's laptop decided to update drivers from Dell, thus throwing it out of whack. Bought the Win7 3 pack, and now it's work fine. I upgraded from my Vista (not that I had a problem with it), but things run a tad smoother so far. :)

It's a rare thing that I would post a link to a Penny Arcade comic on these forums, but I think the guys at PA clearly expressed how most gamers say they feel about Windows 7. And, as happens every so often, there's no profanity or other inappropriate content in the Oct. 30 comic.

I seen this on TV tonight It made me Laugh take a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpOvzGiheOM
Mac commercials make me want to throw things. >_<

Fine, Apple makes a decent product. Now can their marketing people stop being such punks? Windows 7 is a decent OS. Let us PC people have our moment in the sun. Go play a AAA PC game on your Macbook Pr--Oh, wait. Right.

I don't have anything against Mac users. Just Mac zealots who insist on railing on PC users all the time. And Mac advertising copywriters. Well, almost all advertising copywriters, really.

</rant>

Windows 7 is a huge improvement over Vista and worth $50 a license.

I will always be a PC person but I just cant help myself and laughing at it. Kinda like poking fun out myself good laugh here there nothing wrong with that hehehe I'm sure Apple will always be there to kick PC in the shins but thats ok The Lord made me a PC user PC wins!! hehehe

Yeah, I've seen that before too.

It's easy to bash an opponent when you're the underdog.

If you laughed during that commercial, read what Mac says here about their Bootcamp ability.

They need to be able to run Windows so that a Mac user can do everything a PC user can do (essentially turn their Mac into a PC).

Lets face it. You can do more on a PC for less money.

Macs use PC parts now anyway! Why not just buy a PC?!

Their laptops are top class compared to most windows notebooks. Most windows notebooks feel like toys, and tend to break like them. My macbook is still going strong after 4 years despite being thrown in bags, dropped off shelves, thrown onto various surfaces, etc. It still looks like it is practically brand new with only a few very minimal scratches. When it dies I will replace it with an aluminum unibody and it will be even tougher.

If I am gonna pay the kind of money Mac charges for a laptop, it better survive a nuclear blast...

For making their users utilize Bootcamp and (possibly) spend more money on another OS, the least they can do is build a sturdy laptop.

Otherwise, just take care of your stuff!

:P

I heard that if I brought the OEM not Retail, the Microsoft Support would be limited or something like that.

Is that true?

Is it better to get Retail than OEMs?

I'm just planning for Win7 64-bit. Don't need 32-bit.

I'll upgrade when I need to buy a whole new computer. Right now my Desktop runs XP without a problem and my Laptop is Vista and runs everything I need.

Though once this desktop bites the dust I'll go with a quad core something or other with windows 7 installed.

I have been shopping around because I will eventually replace my current laptop. PC options are rather pitiful. You can't find any decent laptops that don't look like oversized bricks, have stickers plastered over them like it makes them appear faster or something and virtually no fully metallic options. They might as well paint flames on them, but they would charge extra for that.

Will Windows 7 Home Premium work for Starcraft/Brood war?

Yes or No?

I notice Win7 Pro Edition has Windows XP Mode.

Okay.

Turns out Starcraft is un-playable with Windows 7. :(

For that, I'll wait till SC2 is released.

But since most of you own Windows 7, can you play Starcraft with no problems?

(Like any of you play the actual game...)

Whaa?! And there's no patch for this yet?

It looks like the issue is with drivers dropping 256 color support. I only see 16 and 32 bit color options in win 7. Might want to get someone with an nvidia card to see if it is just the ATI drivers though.
