I didn't notice it was coming very soon, so I went on-line to compare.

And I'm deeply shocked, the same place I brought my Computer parts, is also VERY CHEAP for Windows 7.

Of course, the "retail stores" comes with both 32 and 64 bit.

Which would be suited for me?

Win7 Home 64

Win7 Pro 64

I did notice the features between them and I don't think I need Win7 Pro 64.

But what do you plan for? Home? Pro? Ultimate? None of them!?

If it's not better for gaming by leaps and bounds, I'm not switching for a long time. Vista works for me.

From what I've read in reviews Pro really isn't worth much for gamers... really it only includes a virtual windows XP mode, which is good for companies that don't want to drop thousands into updated specialty software, but really most games today don't "have" to run in XP to work.

I currently have Vista Pro64 installed on my laptop, and it came with a free upgrade to Win7 64. I'll backup and upgrade when the disc comes. If it sucks, I'll restore my current configuration.

I really disliked windows Vista, and upgraded to Win7 as soon as I could (thank you MSDNAA) and really enjoy it. Windows 7 is what I think Vista should have been.

I have never been so giddy with joy over a windows OS. I love win7 and all the great tools I use daily. I liked XP and then liked Vista but Win7 blows them all away. I could never go back, feels foolish to be on older windows now. Runs fantastic for gaming as well.

As soon as I can get it it will be gotten. Is that grammatically correct?

Lol - it is available Thursday - but it will be a while before I can get it. I do plan to get it when I can.

I'm going to see if I can yell at Dell loud enough to give me a free upgrade from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Pro (or Super or Titanium or Shiny Candy Edition or whatever version is roughly equivalent to Vista Ultimate) since they installed Vista on my replacement notebook (my original notebook ran Windows XP Professional) without warning me.

Vista has turned out to be generally crapulent, with a noticeable performance decrease from XP. I'm planning to move to Windows 7 eventually, but there's no way I'm going to pay full price when I shouldn't have had to put up with Vista and all its bad design in the first place.

Pre-ordered it. I gotta use it to get familiar with it as we're starting to support it at our company. Gotta love CorpIT :(

If your company has access to MSDN then you should have had access to windows 7 RTM for awhile now.

We have, Gold MS partner. I just havent been required to support it until tomorrow. Users that have been using it for more than 6 months have been using at own risk. I gotta get use to it fairly quick to officially support it in the company.

I installed Windows 7 yesterday and I'm loving it so far.

Has anyone installed 7 from 7RC? I'm planning on waiting til the RC license expires before I purchase 7, but I would like to know if there is much difference from RC to the actual retail.

I'm not concerned with upgrading, I'm wondering the differences in versions of 7. Did they make any more improvements or is it basically just like RC.
