The requisite "Who else is considering buying this game?" thread

If you're thinking of picking up a game on a Steam sale but want to find out first if others in the CGA community plan to do the same, please post a reply with the name of the game here.

The purpose of this thread is to help prevent buyer's remorse, connect Christian gamers, and help community members prioritize game purchases. (Also, it should help keep other threads from being de-railed.)

Zero Gear :)
I played it. I liked it. It's a shameless Mario Kart clone with online play. If you're able to find even a few other people to play with you, it could be a blast--especially if you meet the other racers in TeamSpeak. (I don't remember whether the game supports voice chat or not.)

I'll probably buy it at $5 if it doesn't drop further in price, but I'm going to wait until Jan. 2 in hopes that it DOES drop further in price. If it dips to $2.49, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Assuming the online play actually works without immense lag and play with folks without having to use 400 digit codes...I'd say it's not a clone, simply dirivative.

Ouch. Just because it's true doesn't mean you need to say it. :p

I'm really hoping Zero Gear is included in a daily deal, but I have my doubts since most of yesterday's daily deals are more prominent titles. Unfortunately, ZG isn't included in any of the indie bundles, either.

Oh well. I think $5 is still a great price. I mean, that's still 75% off the standard price. We have until Jan. 2 to see if the price drops any further.

Come Jan. 2, I think we should have a Zero Gear party. :D

There is a good chance you can count me in...but nothing is guaranteed... :)

Anyone else planning to pick up Clones for $2.50? Sale ends at 12 p.m. Central (Dec. 23).

I bought it. Here's hoping at least a few other people pick it up before the sale ends in about 30 minutes.

If you like the Lemmings series, I recommend Clones. If you never played the Lemmings series, take a look at it anyway.

Tek I bought clones too. I love Lemmings and you can't go wrong for 5 bucks.
Excellent.

Shadetaker bought it, too, so that makes 3 that we know of.

Once the madness of the Steam sales settles and we've all had a chance to play through a few single-player levels, we should try out the multiplayer together.

Anyone else thinking of picking up the Battlefield 2 Complete Collection for $5 today?

For that matter, is BF2 still popular online or did most of the player base move to Bad Company 2?

If BF2 picks up steam (pardon the pun) thanks to this sale, maybe Tribe of Judah should consider running a BF2 server once we start renting a dedicated server (which I hope to get set up early 2011).

Seeing as we are getting closer to BF3, and BC2 being very popular (and one of the most fun shooters I have ever played despite all the crashing I have had on my computer), I think BF2 is close to being dead...however, I have been wrong before :p

No. Ugly game is ugly. And old. T_T

Newer doesn't mean better and, if recent trends hold, it's highly unlikely BF3 will support true dedicated servers; however, if there's more interest in Bad Company 2 among ToJ members and very little interest in BF2, it doesn't make sense to get BF2 as well--even for $5.

If it was a game in a genre I already loved (say, quirky Japanese puzzle games) instead of a semi-realistic FPS, I might get it solely for the single-player experience, but it's, well, a semi-realistic FPS. One is probably enough.

Anyone else considering picking up Altitude before the Steam sales end? It was featured as a daily deal yesterday, but the price today is the same ($2.49). I played the demo, liked it, and thought it might be fun to play with other CGA community members.

I'd definitely buy it if there are other members that do. That looks like a game that would be a lot of fun with a good community like this.

Good deal.

I've added Altitude to my "Jan. 2" list. :) I'll see how much money I spend between now and then, see what other games I want to pick up that day, and then decide whether to purchase it or not.

Now for today's sales: Is anyone else thinking of picking up Serious Sam HD: Gold Edition for $4 today?

I know Serious Sam gets a little repetitive after a while, but the game is so over-the-top and the discount (90%) makes for a tempting deal.

How about Global Agenda for $8? I played the trial and was less than impressed...but I might be willing to get this...I don't know...I would need some motivation...maybe...lol
