[b said:Quote[/b] ]Isaiah 14:9
The grave below stirs up to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you, all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones, all those who were kings over the nations
[b said:Quote[/b] ]Luke 16:27
He answered, then I beg you, send Lazarus – (deceased) to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment. Abraham replied, They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them. No, father Abraham, he said, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent. Abraham said to him, If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the sleep of the dead.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]Proverbs 2:18
For her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]
1 Samuel 28:8
Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to a woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name."
But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and wizards from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"
Saul swore to her by the LORD , "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this."
Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?"
"Bring up Samuel," he said.
When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!"
The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?"
The woman said, "I see a ghost coming up out of the ground."
"What does he look like?" he asked.
"An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said.
Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.
Samuel (the ghost) said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?"
"I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."
Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy? The LORD has done what he predicted through me.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]Luke 24: 36-43
While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."
They were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a ghost.
He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.

That isn't the faith healing crap is it? Where the "doctor" palms a small baggie w/ blood & guts in it, then puts his hands on the "patient's" stomach, bursts the bag and pretends to stick his hands inside. That's some big time baloney![b said:Quote[/b] (Jim @ Oct. 26 2004,3:12)]It takes a lot to convince me of authentic sightings of ghosts and such like, but I do believe.
I am interested what Christians think of paranormal activity in the living- flameproof people, magnetism, poltergeist activity etc.
Did you know there was this doctor who claimed he was possessed by the spirit of a dead doctor when he performed operations. He never used anaesthetic, never sterilised his equipment, yet people recovered from their operations much faster, did not feel pain and never became infected. He (apparently) even gave the patients bits he cut out to hold and look at.
Edit: I'll give the name later, when I get home. It's in a book somewhere.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]Not arguing that it doesn't happen. I simply don't partake of it. I don't go out of my way to become involved in it. I don't do seances, or ouigi boards or any other form of divination. I don't allow myself to become "possessed" I choose to take a very personal stand against those types of forces in my life
