Two points...
Religious Discussion(Moderated)
For civilized discussion and civilized debate: In the end, if you cant agree, then agree to disagree. This forum is moderated.
1. Nowhere in the name or the description of the forum does it say that it is limited to Christian Religious Discussion. Obviously, being a Christian is not a prerequisite for posting there.
2. You don't have to be a Christian to be a good moderator. I personally would be a horrible mod, despite the fact that I am a Christian. The only things that are ultimately important (IMO, anyway) is the moderator needs to be someone that has the time, patience, and desire to do it, while being fair in the use of his/her authority. Don't edit posts unnecessarily, don't delete posts because you don't agree with the content, etc. While I'm relatively new to the RD boards, I think that Dark Virtue was very fair, concise and discussed with an open mind. We just don't agree on one specific point.
You wouldn't get into an 747 that was to be piloted by somebody who only ever played the first version of microsoft flight simulator or any version for that matter.
Ah, but you're forgetting that DV once did proclaim to be a Christian. He went to church, read the Bible.... but never felt the spiritual connection. So he has changed his beliefs to fit his experience, or lack thereof. That doesn't make him uneducated or incompetent, it just makes him an unbeliever. To fit your analogy, he used to fly 747s, but chose to retire. He still knows all about the 747.
I agree Phantom and SirThom. DV would be a good moderator.
*edit* bah, DV finished his reply before I did. Big sadface. Something that just came to mind... Jesus went to the houses of the poor, the sick, the tax collectors... He wasn't afraid to be seen with them. Why is it that we think that a forum moderated by DV would be such a horrible place?
Besides, if we felt he was unfairly moderating the forums, then we could bring it up with HCS, Tek, or someone else high-up in the CGA. If the mod of a specific forum is abusing the powers, then the admins can pull the cord.
