Dead_Aim, are you doing some CAD drawings, or 3D modeling in Maya? Well, if you don't, you really don't need the 256 Mb on a video card right now. 2nd, don't talk smack about ATI ... I used to be anti-ATI not too long ago, then reading some articles and reviews changed my mind pretty quick about my opinion. Yes, ATI's drivers weren't that good back in the day, but they've come a long way. Pretty much ATI has taken the lead when they released the 9700 line, and stayed in the lead ever since. Nvidia's poor attempt to catch ATI with their FX line, haha, is something to laugh at. Nvidia's best attempt so far is the release of the 5950 FX - which I cannot speak on yet b/c I haven't seen any tests with it against the 9800 PRO. Speaking of, I actually have the 9800 PRO ... well actually the 9800 Non-PRO, I just flashed the bios with a PRO bios so it's at PRO speeds now for $100 less

Never had any problems with it, and it can run anything I throw at it. $230 is a good price for a 9800 PRO ... nuff said!
 
oh yea... so you listen to goose over me now.. pfft.

The only cards Macs come with now are Radeons...that should be evidence in and of itself that ATI has taken the throne.

And if anyone even THINKS of bashing Macs, I'll have their head on a plate.

I don't like mac never liked mac never want to really use mac again... I have had years of using mac in both HS and college, but even the graphic design programs don't do it for me... I'm in industry type person... Mechanical Engineering to be exact... there is not a mac in the entire engineering building that gets used (if you ever found one) SG systems are used more (that's slicongrapics for anyone not knowing. all CNC machinery throughout the world use PC communications... many still in dos and binary due to speed... so I will never own a mac, sorry

besides I've heard of Virtual PC... never heard of a Virtual Mac... think about it. ROFL
 
Well Elite better make sure he states to those people they're OEM cards, or I'll tell em and then tell em where he lives so they can form an angry mob and storm his house.
Just offhandedly the 5900 performs at about the level of the 5700 Ultra. It's not the 5900 Ultra or 5950 Ultra, there's a big difference. It's getting way too confusing though the way they're naming and all the minor varieties they have.
 
Macs are definitly an aquried taste if you've only used a PC more or less, that's unargueable. I really do just wish they'd move a little farther from being so proprietary.
 
I think the out of stock thing might have to do witht he limit of 99... as for macs I like os 10 alot... I'd consider buying one, but i have no money and imovie is MUCH worse than windows movie maker

I agree with Goose. Don't u talk smack 'bout ATI. Jus wait till I get my hands on Radeon 9600XT.. and i'l pwn ur darn nVidia junk and that new monitor ur so proud 'bout

now you see how it feels to be smacked cuz of ur vidcard..

Btw, that card was limited to 99 users.. as soon as it filled it up.. they didn't restock it..
