Hey everyone,

I am strangely intrigued by the PlayStation 2. Does anybody have suggestions for good games? Pretty much any type will work with me, just looking for insight.

Are you looking for games to play online or regular games? You like rpg's, sports, or action games? ............I'm just full of questions tonight. Sorry :D
 
Oh, a HECKA good 3rd person shooter is called "WinBack" It's kinda old, so it should be pretty cheap. Look at it and it's fun. What it is is you have a pistol you can roll, crouch, put your back against a wall and turn and fire and then put ur back to the wall agian. or you can crouch roll to the side of the block and start kickign the guy's butt. you have shotgun, pistol, machinegun, and rockets. you can lock on the guy, but still, if they are moving, kinda hard ot hit them. the rockets are heat seaking... HEH HEH HEH! 4 shots to rockets. But you can out manuver them by running incircles like crazy. I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS GAME! IT's multiplayer too. the story plot is ur a swat agent and you go out and kill ppl... that's the iddea.

WinBack is also a cheap version to Metal Gear Solid.

So, if you dont have the money for MGS, get WinBack. Otherwise, MGS is quite good than WinBack, for a large price, of course.

You know whats the dumb thing about being an agent, all your agent 'friends' end up being dead or back-stabbing you in the game. :mad:

How about games that have extensive language? A rated M for Mature, type game, any of those types?

- Burnout 3: Takedown
Awesome racing game.

- Socom US navy seals
Cool 1st/3rd perspective shooter.

- Resident Evil: Outbreak
Best and only on-line Resident Evil game!

- Yu-Gi-Oh: The Duelists of the Roses
I like playing card games.

Welllll my favorites for the PS2 are the following, in no particular order:

Metal Gear Solid 3
Devil May Cry
Xenosaga
Kingdom Hearts
Zone of the Enders 2
Jak and Daxter
Ratchet and Clank 3
Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Buuut it really depends on what you're looking for..the PS2 has a TON of games to offer.

Well, ok then, dont get Resident Evil: Outbreak, because......well, the characters are rude and are hateful to God/Jesus.
Check out the preview videos to see my point, go to a video game site.

They actually swear if you keep pressing a certain button on the PS2 controller, so, when you dont press a button rapidly, your character wont swear...too much.

But I think thats fine since its a Survivor/Horror game.

Games you should also watch out for language:

Grand Theft Auto Series
True Crime: Streets of LA

It has most PS2 games with off and on-line.

You should get the original Timesplitters, it's the only game IMO to ever come close to living up to Goldeneye. And it's <$20 so you can't go wrong there. I'd also suggest Champions of Norrath, but just watch out for those Everquest type females, they don't wear a whole lot of clothing. Other than that it's an awesome game, especially when you go through the game with 4 people. Definately get Metal Gear Solid 2, it has a little language, but nothing like GTA or anything ridiculous like that. I'd reccomend the Armored Core series, but rent it first, because it's a cult classic, but you might not like it. Midnight Club II is good, but a bit of language in that too. I LOVE SSX 3, if you don't have it you should get it, it's only <=$20 nowadays. Mercenaries is very fun too. There ye go, I probably could come up with more if you would like me too. Shame you ruled out FFX though, that's a great game.
 
Personal Favorites and Question

My favorites include -

- Metal Gear 2 and 3
- Timesplitters 2
- Champions of Norrath
- Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
- Onimushu 1 - 3
- R-Type Final
- Lord of The Rings: ROTK
- Viewtiful Joe

Some of the above have great 2 player co-op play on them, which is great.

Here's a question -

Anyone play any online PS2 games in groups? One of the problems I have is I want to play CON for example, but I seem to always get stuck playing with some younger kid who has a horrid potty mouth. Hearing F*&, F(*, I'm dying all the time gets old super fast. Anyone part of any christian clans or know of any good PS2 sites related to this?
