Hey guys,

Do we have any interest in here for a PlayStation 2 chapter? I am highly-considering getting a PS2, and it would rock if we could get a few guys together from time to time.

I voted unsure because I don't know how many of our members have a PS2, and how many games those members have that are playable online.

I don't have a PS2 btw, but I'm always in support of potentially popular/beneficial chapters.

I agree. Its hard to get PS2 people when most people are playing on their X-box.

I own a PS2, yet, I doubt other PS2 gamers have what I play, so its hard to compete.

It would be nice though, to have a PS2 chapter.

I would love to, but I don't have an online adapter, and I'm probably not going to get one because I might trade in my 1st model PS2 for one of those nice new thin ones. Or just get an xbox instead (which I would probably do rather than get a nicer looking and better working ps2).

X-Box or PS2... That's like a worm taking on a grizzly bear. The X-Box is better all around then the PS2. In fact I have stopped people at Best Buy from buying a PS2 and told them to get an X-Box instead. One thing you have to remeber though is that the PC PWNS all consoles. The main reason is that better video cards and that sort of thing can always be bought to replace the olds ones, witch you can not do to consoles.

Actually, its a wolf(PS2) taking on a grizzly bear(X-Box).

Anyone tell me why did you choose X-Box over PS2? Better Graphics? Powerful machine?

I choose PS2 over X-Box cause of the games. Certain games which I like alot are only on the PS2 console has. Resident Evil: Outbreak, Yu-gi-oh: The Roses of the Duelist, Socom: US navy seals, etc.

But SirThom, its up to you, either a wolf(PS2), or a grizzly bear(X-Box).

I still like the PS2, and would be playing it till I'm super old.
Same goes with Starcraft and Counter-Strike, 5 straight years and going... ;)
Its all about enjoyment to the console/games, not how great and/or powerful it is.

i would go gamecube if i did cause SOUL CALIBER2,LOTR and just to let you know LOTR :TT works better on GC than even the xbox and i know!

Well, currently, I have an Xbox and a GameCube, so I am trading my GameCube and games and PS1 and a few games to earn moola for the PS2. At this point, I would be a wolf and a grizzly-bear :D

But I like PS2 just because it has grabbed me since it came out. There are also some rockin' games out for it, too....like GranTurismo, Crash Bandicoot, SOCOM, and so on. I think PS2 and Xbox is a good combo. :)

Well I have a PS2 and I think this is a good idea. I've SOCOM a little but I actually play Everquest for the PS2 and am currently trying to start a Christian guild there. So I voted YES.

Just because 1337 bean brought it up, I'd like to say that the graphics in the LOTR games for the cube vs for everything else seem brighter. The textures look more blurred and brighter for some reason! Maybe it's a technical issue, but I suppose it could be considered to look better because the textures look somewhat smoother. However I like the graphics on the other two versions better myself.

I'm a PS2 lover and I freely admit an XBox hater. Technically XBox has better hardware, theres no doubt it can push more polygons. I have seen the BSOD on it, but I've also had a game that locked up my PS2.

You can't beat the controller or the backward compatibility with PS1 games. You also don't have to pay for online gaming (Everquest and FF excluded).

There should definately be a PS2 area here. If its dead after a month or so, then nix it. How else will I hook up with a 30'ish year old gamer, who doesn't say F*& everytime they're about to die, and doesn't mind me pretending I still live in the 80's? ;)

People should make a list of games they play, and try to match-and-play with PS2 gamers.

From what it looks like, most people here are RPG fans, while others do not have the same games that people can play together/on-line.

So when does the area open? ;)

My online consists of -

Tribes
Champions of Norrath I and II
Lord of the Rings: ROTK
ATV Offroad 2
Timesplitters 3 (Pre-Ordered)
Project Snowblind (Pre-Ordered)

I keep thinking I've forgotten one, but can't recall its name. Hmmmm...

My play style is heavy into coop. I don't enjoy watching someone suck up all the item drops, ala CON. I really enjoy team work where people coordinate roles/positions. Headsets are fun, but you'd have to get used to me saying goofy things such as - "Roger that Johhny 5", "Crap, I just fragged myself again!", "Ahhhhh! Help! Someone save me!" :) I never said I was good at the games, just that I enjoyed them. I'm a 30 year old programmer, with 2 lovely daughters, so you can use that as a frame of reference for my personality.

PS - I'm on broadband.

I'm on broadband as well, but it looks like it might be a while before I end up getting my PS2 :(

But I do plan on playing [at least] THPS4 and Tribes: Arial Assault, once I can get my hands on one.

I own:
- Socom: US Navy Seals*
- ATV Offroad Fury 2*
- 007: Everything or Nothing*
- Resident Evil: Outbreak*
- Burnout 3: Takedown*
- True Crime: Streets of LA
- Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Duelists of the Roses

* = can play on-line

I mostly play Resident Evil: Outbreak, on-line. I love survivor/horror games!
I'm most definety getting Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2 when it comes out.

Using Broadband.

I am undecided since well i still have not gotten any of my games back from when they were stolen when i moved but soon i will get them back...i hope...but i do not know because yes PS2 has very good games it doesn't have that great online besides on certain games and i can not remember what they are. Actually X-box and PS2 are equal as i think...X-box has better internet but not as good as games (only Halo 1 is the good game on that system)...PS2 has good and better games but not that good online capacity.
