OMWord!!! New internet speed at new home!

That's the initial burst speed..:) Do a download longer than 10 seconds and you'll get your real speed..but that powerboost as it's called is nice..:)

Oh you are evil xion, if i lived near you i would come over, and live in your basement with out you even knowing and use your internet all day then make a hole that goes into the backyard so that i can sneak out and get food.

Even knowing that's the initial burst, I'm still struggling with a pang of jealousy.

What does that mean? i have seen that so many times and never knew what it meant...
The dictionary is our friend.

it's nice..I have comcast at my church and routinely see the powerboost..:) However when i spend most of my time logged into remote servers connected to static 10 meg or 100 meg ports..i guess you get jaded..<G>

The best part is I am paying $19.99/month for 6 months until they do the Comcast thing and then make it $50...

Powerboost actually kicks in whenever there is available bandwidth. Cox has the same thing, but ive never had issues with my connection compared to comcast.

comcast actually licensed the powerboost technology from cox..:)

It's not too shabby, you can get 2x the speed at times, but you arn't paying extra for it, well besides the overcharging to begin with. Since we've been here they have doubled our speed with no price increases, I just wish I had more upload as it is sloooooow.

nods..that's why i went with dsl..lost download but gained upload..<G>

I have a question: where do i get the info that i put in the field " apartment #" at Internet service sites? you know the thing you fill out to see if they are available in your area?

If you aren't in an apartment then you dont need it. You probably want to avoid those sites as they usually get you lots of spam.

Here's a question, if the initial download burst is so high, couldn't you develop a program that starts the download with the high burst, and then stop it, then restart it with another high burst, and then stop it? And so on.
