Well you know since we have so many 60s right now, when BC comes out, I suspect we will all be in the same boat together. So there will be many many groups levelling together I would imagine. Unless you want to solo to 70? I'll group up with you if we're on and we can duo it out too.
But to answer your question. If you do some soloing, 5/5 Spirit Tap is a must. You will just love this talent. Beat on the mob till close to dead with spells, then switch to wand or staff or other weapon and go till dead. Then before you know it, you are back at full or close to full mana, ready for the next mob. Get Mind Flay of course, most mana efficient damage spell in the game with a snare-effect, which is great. Improved shadow word pain is a must, a few points in improved mind blast would be worth it for soloing as well. You will need a few, 3/5 at least, points in Shadow Focus, as the new higher level mobs up to lvl 70 will be resisting your spells for sure, so this will help mitigate that. I would get Silence, as you use it on casters at a distance, Mind flay them as they run towards you, then you can Psychic Scream them when Silence is over, and Mind Flay again.
That's the basics for the shadow tree for soloing, you can figure out the rest I'm sure, but if you have any specific questions about certain talents, feel free to ask. =)
