New Priest stats up!

Well you know since we have so many 60s right now, when BC comes out, I suspect we will all be in the same boat together. So there will be many many groups levelling together I would imagine. Unless you want to solo to 70? I'll group up with you if we're on and we can duo it out too. ;)

But to answer your question. If you do some soloing, 5/5 Spirit Tap is a must. You will just love this talent. Beat on the mob till close to dead with spells, then switch to wand or staff or other weapon and go till dead. Then before you know it, you are back at full or close to full mana, ready for the next mob. Get Mind Flay of course, most mana efficient damage spell in the game with a snare-effect, which is great. Improved shadow word pain is a must, a few points in improved mind blast would be worth it for soloing as well. You will need a few, 3/5 at least, points in Shadow Focus, as the new higher level mobs up to lvl 70 will be resisting your spells for sure, so this will help mitigate that. I would get Silence, as you use it on casters at a distance, Mind flay them as they run towards you, then you can Psychic Scream them when Silence is over, and Mind Flay again.

That's the basics for the shadow tree for soloing, you can figure out the rest I'm sure, but if you have any specific questions about certain talents, feel free to ask. =)

I've done a cursery glance at the new talents and the new spells. And in all honesty, I'm not suprised by the additions. They've added some cool bonuses that are needed knowing that end game raiding content will be limited to 25 people.

As for a raid spec, you'll predomanently see this 31/30/0 spec. You won't see much variation from it.

I've never gone for a 31 point talent except shadowform while grinding the levels. This is not to say that the new power infusion or lightwell are useless. I see PI as being very valuable even when solo grinding. There are some awesome 31/20/0 builds that come close to damage output as the shadow tree. Lightwell is a raiding only talent with some applications in 5 man instances and very little if any for solo grinding.

For a discipline\holy priest like myself, there is not really much in the >60 talents. I see myself using the above spec because it just takes my current 26/25 and fills in some blanks.

Those who choose to be holy\disc are in for a pleasant addon at the 41 point mark: Circle of Renewal. Priests who are currently 20/31/0 for lightwell are getting some serious buffage to their healing. And makes a 20/41/0 build extremely usefull in raiding environments. This here build is a 20/41/0 that is just amazing.

Let this sink in, imagine hitting a priest with this build with Power Infusion and an improved Divine spirit buff...Hello, and we say rank 7 flash heals for 2000 o.O And that circle of renew (which does not stack with renew) is going to tick for an insane amount, maybe 600 or more.

From a healing specced preist perspective, I think the holy tree got some major, major buffage. Holy priests are going to have it easy keeping their PvE and PvP groups alive.

I am really excited to go to 70. I would guess that the Heal Bot will still be very much in demand. The new instances Im sure will need a pretty good healer to keep people alive. Also I think it might be a mistake to just quit our raiding due to new content. I would vote level during week and keep on our current raiding scedule and watch how much faster and easier MC, BWL will be as we gain levels. Not to mention my experience on MMORPGs is bugs bugs bugs for first couple weeks untill the kinks get worked out. Old content will be faster than ever with nobody using it and everyone spaming the new instances.
