New Member Note: Need Healers and AOE Tank

truely , i dont know what happened to make it explode but my guessing is while i was fixing the door to the drive , i hit something that set off something else and the next thing i remember is awaking up on the floor stareing at the blackened insides of the drive itself.

Wow Brug! I've never heard of anyone getting knocked out cold by their computer... May I suggest you not peruse a job in the IT industry... Maybe you should look into forestry...

oh my gosh Brug! are you ok?

Yeah, but unbeknownst to him his PC achieved temporary sentience and implanted him with a cybernetic chip while he was out cold, so he's now part of the collective.

You will all be assimilated (with a pitchfork, if necessary). Resistance is futile.

Us raiders pay repair bills taking new peeps to the raids that we have on farm and don't need gear from all the time. We don't take the gear, the new peeps do. Due to the level of our gear our repair bills are high and the only reward we get is seeing very happy people get geared up. Why is it so hard for others to do that for the raiders?

It's not like Raiders don't get anything out of taking new people to kara, is it? (BoJs)

This seems to be a double edged sword. Non-raiders can't advance in gear until after raiders get their gear first. Non-raiders have to pay repair bills, food, and pots/elix bills too.

Frustrating situation for all I would say.

wow almost makes me want to dig out toad girl,....almost, I just wouldn't be happy with anything other than a druid though.

Wow i miss you guys... from time to time, LOL

Don't forget about the badges of justice from Kara that EVERYONE gets, Raider or member. :)

I haven't been looking into WoTLK too hard, but if all a Death Knight is gonna be is a glorified MSWarrior/Rogue, Ice Mage or an Affliction 'lock... count me out for good...

Rediculous.

All well and good, if your toon needs anything from any of the badge vendors. My lock needs nothing, as do many other raider's toons. So....I bring my second and third alts so that at least the badges can get used.....not because I need them to raid.

Personally, I'd rather be getting my BoJ's from content I haven't seen. But if we were able to do the content I haven't seen, I wouldn't need the BoJ's. Sadly, most people don't possess the gear or skill to progress in the content I haven't seen. I am not the only one in this boat.

So, how do we solve this? Run people through content like Kara so they can get geared enough to progress? But doing that puts me further behind my own progression curve. So what can we do about that?

Bring new people into the new content without having going through the old content and then give them the same opportunity to get the gear I need to progress yet waited 6, 8 or 10 months for the opportunity to get?

I see no fair way unless somebody somewhere is willing to make some sacrifices. I sacrifice my own progression so that others can gear up in Kara. Maybe those who are gearing up in Kara can sacrifice the opportunity to get the higher progression gear to those who have been waiting for it? Give a little get a little?

If there is a better solution, lets hear it. Rehashing this problem, which has exsisted for years (since guilds have started MC and progressed into BWL, including our own guild) is not solving it. I really don't want to hear that the current system is unfair, I would rather read over some solutions.

Whether DKP or loot council is used there will always be loot issues. Everyone wants to advance their toon and nobody like to spend time doing something that isn't going to advance them. However the thing that needs changing is not "how" we distribute loot but rather our attitudes twords it and raiding in general. Like anyone else I raid in some part to advance my character, but I also just love raiding for the fun of it (I raided MC 2 weeks ago with a pickup group of 10 guys for fun... I've cleared MC many times and there is nothing I would want from there). Whether we are raiding Kara or Gruul or Black Temple is irrelevant to me I just enjoy killin stuff and I'm excited to see others in the guild recieve loot. As christians we should think of others before ourselves and be genuinely happy to help any way we can. We will all get our gear and we get back what we put in.

i remember this issue alot when i was playing.. id get really mad when i had been to every raid i could and someone else that just started got that peice ive been trying so hard to get. but thats the problem... there is almost always going to be atleast 1 unhappy person because they didn't get the loot they wanted. Thankfully we have people like goblit, mordos, goodwone, and the others who spend their time to help the guild.

After speaking with Mattiah about why he's upset about his raiding situation he told me that it stems to a specific incident and according to the raiding policy he is right. In a recent ZA run a healing item dropped but he was told he couldn't roll on it and that a raider would be taking the item for an offset. He was unsure if it was a raiders alt or for a raiders offspec but in either case he should have gotten a roll according to the rules. I really could care less how we distribute loot whether by loot council or by DKP but once fair rules have been established they must be followed. I'm only hearing one side of the story of course, it's quite possible someone else has a different interpritation of the events. I'm not taking sides I just want everyone to feel they are being treated fairly so we can get back to raiding. It's a game, lets have fun. :)

10 Man Loot (Kara and ZA)

1) In general, if you need the item, you can roll for it... highest roll wins.
2) Raid Officer has the discretion to change loot rules but will announce prior to the boss fight

...When it comes to Alts you MUST pass all loot priority to mains that need the item. Now if the item is for (the main's)a secondary set or an off spec set you have as much right to the item. In most cases you will get a needed item on an alt before a Main gets said item for a secondary set. This goes for any Redeemed Raid.

i find that main loot rule a bit of a pain if you know what i mean. i have yet to run linnk in kara but once and it a pain . i shouldnt have to switch linnk to my main raider just to get loot from kara.
on a side note , a while back i told some people i was working on "charicter x". well she is almost ready to be revealed to redeemed .

Proud, you can be my lawyer anytime :) I'm not upset about this anymore, more frustrated with my whole gaming in general. I feel i spend way too much time on as it is. But I can't be on when the progression raids are being ran so therefore I can't obtain Raider status.

I really do enjoy raiding with all of you. Sometimes regular players just feel like they are being left behind. (I'm sure a few of you have felt this way before)

Anyways. I'm willing to jump in and heal when i can no matter whether loot is at stake or not. "I must decrease and He(Christ) must increase."

Thanks again Proud. You're a good friend.

If this is how it went then it was wrong. But, did he bring this up at all? Cause I never heard of this before today.

Totally understand that. When we had been talking about it when it happened you just said you couldn't roll on it and I didn't ask for more details.....or pass on the incident to an ocifer. Sorry.

Well, I suppose things are cleared up, turns out to be a misunderstanding on all sides. Lets try and remember we are all human, we all make mistakes or misunderstand a situation or even the rules.

There may also be other complicating issues. For example, how does one deal with loot when it comes to somebody like Sandric who will switch between tank and heal spec based on the needs of the group and has sets for both and is fully competant at doing both? Tree does the same thing on one of his toons, specs healing or dps based on the needs of the group, has sets for both and is competant at both? Maybe this was a case of an exception, maybe not, hard to tell without full information.
