Message from the Guild Leader

Well, it is time for my monthly pause and look at what is happening around Redeemed.

First, wow what an incredible ride we have been on the last three months plus. I took over guild leadership in November. The guild was in a flux and we were looking for direction and trying to re-establish who we were as a group. Little did I know what God was planning to do.

In the last few months we have seen Redeemed grow to new heights and broaden our directions and goals. Last Friday night we had over 40+ people online. We have right at 400 characters in our guild from 183 accounts. Our guild is active and growing both in numbers, skill and hopefully spiritually. We are bonding and expanding which can be very difficult.

It is with that in mind I wanted to address a few issues. As we grow it becomes very important that we continue to love each other and respect one another. This means that it becomes more and more encumbant on us as individuals to make the effort to fit into the guild. As you reach a larger number, we cannot expect everyone to know us and ask us how we are doing. We become the ones who must iniate the conversations and continue to work to develop the relationships. At the same time we must fight the natural reaction to feel left out. Often times people begin to miss the "family" feeling of a smaller guild. I do not think God ever wants Redeemed to be anything but a family. However, in a family we often have different roles we fill. There are times we must be the older sibling and hang with our younger counter parts. And as the younger sibling we often have to allow our older brothers and sisters to "do their own thing". We must fight against the urge to form cliques and fight the urge to call friend cliques. I say these things NOT because they are happening. On the contrary, I say them to ask us all to check our spirits and attitudes to ensure that Redeemed continues to develop in a manner that honors God and people. Please do not hear these words as a lecture or as pointed at any individuals. I feel God is leading us as a guild and He desires us to live in harmony with each other. Therefore we must be aggressive in watching out for the pitfalls that often occur in organizations of our size.

You guys are a great group and I am proud to call you my family.

It is with great pride and amazing joy that I can make the following announcement....

Friday we will send our first Raid Team into Karazhan. Quantam and the guild leaders have been working out a system to ensure our success as a guild. There are not many guilds in the world attempting this raid. We should be proud of our brothers and sisters who have put in the time and effort to blaze this trail for us. I also want to ensure you we, as leadership, are making every effort to make this raid available to as many people as we can.

We are working out the details as far as scheduling. We hope to have more information for you very soon.

I beg for your patience in this manner. It is very easy for "loot greed" to jump into the mix and people to feel left out. It is the desire of every officer to make sure raiding does not become dividing factor in this guild. There are many who want to raid and there are many who do not. Let us please respect each other and talk thru any issue that come up in a fair and honest way.

Again, I thank you for the honor of being your guild leader. I covet your prayers and all the time you put into Redeemed to make it the greatest guild I have had the privlidge of being in.

<sorry for the wall of text>

Woot!

Another long chapter in the guild is being written. Amen to that!

I, too, am proud to be in one of the oldest and most successful guilds in the World of Warcraft. Few guilds have lasted as long as we have, and although we have had some significant struggles, I'm glad to be where we are now.

Be encouraged, friends!

This guild has been the source of more enjoyment then I have ever gotten out of a game. Thank you my brothers and sisters for making Redeemed what it is. I am proud to be a part of it and it is truly an honor to serve you all. I appreciate how much, so many of you do for the guild and I know God is blessing us because of the selflessness that is shown on a daily basis.

God Bless you and His Peace be with you.

I love this guild, and it is because of this guild that iam still playing wow, for i love to play wow but i also love to meet and talk and visit with people also because of the christian fellowship where we can discuss the bible and then get to playing and also my wife doesn't give me as much hassle of playing wow since i joined redeemed, so it truly this guild has been a blessing to me in more way's than one.

Redeemed is a fun and nice guild to be in and I think I'll stay for a bit since play the horde has become boring again. I wish to see our good guild again.

Our guildies are AWESOME, grats to everyone for being great. May we all be open to helping eachother in many ways, from gaming to praying. I am very proud and glad that I moved my toons to be in Redeemed! TY Icthus for taking so much time for us, ty to all the guild leaders, officers and members! Running a guild is a lot of work and there are a lot of people who've put effort and time into making this great for us.

Kudos to Icthus well said....Now a Challenge to all guildys!

Icthus update allowed me to reflect why I have been in Redeemed so long.

First, I would like to say only through help/support from other guildys during my membership and some no longer with Redeemed has allowed me develop and mature and forge friendships and fellowship that are dear to me.

More importantly I never forgot this help/support and challenged myself to help others when I got to that point when I can, basically my Pass it on belief. Remember you can give a hungry person a fish and they eat for a meal, or teach them how to fish and they never go hungry.

Now the challenge!

Paraphrasing the words of the late President of the United States of America, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, "And so, my fellow Redeemed Guildys, ask not what your guild can do for you - ask what you can do for your guild.

I want to challenge each and everyone of you to think of something you would like to see Redeemed doing...make suggestions to the officership...but more importantly be part of it! And make it FUN!

Example...Quest lines, Attunement quests, etc. If you need a quest, you go and find others who need it, you form the team get it done. Doesn't have to be only Redeemed like new comer day at your churches show them what Redeemed is about. Having been Raid Leader, I can tell you I didn't start out that way but I ended up one, you can too! Sure there will be times of frustation as you learn, but laugh together, cry together when you wipe at less than 1 percent, but spirit release, get your body back, buff up and do it again till you get that mean old boss down through teamwork and coordination.

Team work and coordination that is foundational in end game instances. Yes it will be tedious, yes it will be expensive, yes it will be harder than doing something on farm status, however it will be more rewarding in the long run.

You say you don't know the instances or boss strategy..no problem..research it our own raid forums is a good source, thottbot.com or alkazam or wikedpedia or google it. Bring the potions you need or food etc. As I was a BoyScout, "Be Prepared"........

You are empowered my Christian brothers and sisters to do anything in game or in RL never forget....so lets take Redeemed to new levels with regards to Fellowship, Fun, and Friendship!

The Gauntlet has been thrown down! Are you up to my challenge?

Love you all....John aka Powderpuff, Samuraij, sometimes Darkcloud and Battlecry when I have time.
