Im impressed with Anet cust support

For most people it just upsets and aggravates them to be told that everything happens for a reason. They really don't find comfort in those words, not even Christians. Just ask your pastor, he'll tell you I'm speaking truth about that. You intended it in the best way though and its great that you want to support and encourage others. That's what Pastori has called for all of us to do a lot more of.

ya...usually people like comfort and not fact, lol
Well, there's a time for both; sometimes people want comfort and need facts.

But that's not the case here. You just need sympathy, and I certainly don't blame you!

youd be amazed at what you can accomplish by thinking and praying through something instead of using *gasp* habit

habbit is the #1 reason americans are jerks

Yes, most people in general are reactive rather than proactive. The few that are proactive can have enourmous influence over reactive types - either for good or evil. And that, folks, is Hollywood and the advertisment industry in a nutshell.

We are just plain Hated in Europe lol. Most Americans do not realize how hated we are!
It depends on the area. But most countries that have had to be helped by us really do dislike us...or at least the politicians do!

Take Germany for instance we are very hated except where our Bases are. England does not like us too much either but near as bad as most every where else. Of course I have never been but from friends that have spent a lot of time in Europe *cough* Sherman!!

Good Point alot of Americans hate american that is really sad :(

*waves hand* Hi that'd be me.

Not really hate, more dissapointed with. I just hate what this country has become and the road it is headed. So much corruption and sin, it's enough for me to refer to the USA as Babylon. Anyway I think that part of the problem is that alot of American's hate America, people don't care what happens and the state of our nation slowly deteriorates. Anyway when I say I am dissapointed with the States and I call it Babylon, that can be said of most countries in the world too.

I think Switchfoot said it best in their song Politicians:

"Everything is broken
Everything is broken
Everything is breaking down, breaking down

Everything is bleeding
Everything is bleeding
Everything is breaking down, breaking down

A pledge allegiance to a country without borders, without politicians
Watching for my sky to get torn apart
We are broken, we are bitter
We're the problem, we're the politicians
Watching for our sky to get torn apart
C'mon and break me"

Just a small escert but you get the idea. Basically just talking about how this is a falen world. The problem is that many are not Christian and do not see it this way throwing their perspective off of what really matters sending this and other nations into a downward spiral. No Government lasts forever and it is beacause their values and morals slowly decline.

Ephesians 6:12 said:
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

It is because of this passage that I think that we should be wary of patriotism and be careful not to let it overshadow our faith as many Christian American Republicans(as C$ put it) do. Remember that Satan's realm is on earth, he rules where he wills so we have to be careful of what we put our faith in so as not to put faith in a cause that could be in the Adversary's control(I'm not pointing at anything specifically, this is jsut a general statement).

Just my $.02 USD

When looking at America a historical perspective helps. Historically the only thing in the past roughly equivalent to what America is today, in terms of power and worldwide position, is the Roman empire. Now, I'm sorry but no serious look at history would allow one to even start to compare the corruption, moral ambiguity and outright brutality of the Roman empire (during most of its existence) to the United States of today. Think about what it meant to be indigent or handicapped in Roman times. What would the Roman government do for those folks? Think too about what happened to people who spoke against the Roman government. There was even this dude who once said go ahead and pay your taxes man, but keep in mind who the King of Kings really is. We all know what happened to him. In this country he would be resigned to the lunatic fringe, with the church's eager endorsement. But he wouldn't be nailed to a cross by our government.

America today IS hated, but I think it has a lot more to do with our good than our bad. And now I will stop because I've clearly overspent my 2 cents worth. ;)
