I hate Microsoft

I talked to my friend who has had an Xbox for a few years now and never had an issue with it who said there could have been a cable hookup problem.

He said his mom and dad hooked theirs up incorrectly and it threw an RROD at them, freaked them out too.

I find it interesting that you took it back, they hooked it up and it worked.

That could be your problem.
 
That's kind of what I thought too except that I unhooked and rehooked all the cables, moved the hard drive around to make sure it was right, and tried every possible configuration of order to plug stuff in. Still did the same thing. So I really don't know.
