It's just I see a "hype" post, to get hyped about an awesome upcoming game, and it seems that some people just like to try and kill the hype for others...
If your objective is hype instead of discussion, then you may have been better served by posting your thread on a Final Fantasy fan forum. Users are, of course, welcome to post threads about upcoming games, but given as this is a community built on a shared faith rather than fandom for a specific game or franchise, dissenting opinions on games should be expected.

I mean, there are people on these forums who don't like
StarCraft. They're welcome to post their opinions, too (even if they're wrong).

I wanted to talk about FFXIV and how awesome it will be
Then tell us why you think the game will be awesome. Who knows? Maybe you'll get some of us naysayers to reconsider our doubts. There are a fair number of MMO players who are burned out on MMOs from developers that refuse to innovate. Tell us (or link to articles explaining) what innovation the game offers and we'll listen.
On a related note, my comments pertained to the decision to number the game as part of the main series and the state of the franchise (based on VIII, X, and XII).
I should also note that I have two perspectives on any given game:
- Am I interested in playing this game when it comes out?
- Would this make a good chapter for Tribe of Judah?
I have to say "no" to the first and "quite possibly" to the second. It wouldn't be the first time that ToJ formed a chapter for a game that I don't like. (Remember Counter-Strike?)
I don't jump into threads about games I will not play and say it is stupid...because it takes away from the joy of others...
I fail to see how expressing an opinion takes joy from others unless the naysayers are bringing new and unfavorable information to light.
I'm excited about the upcoming release of Super Mario Galaxy 2, but I understand that not everyone shares my tastes in video games. If I made a thread about SMG2, I wouldn't be surprised if people posted that they weren't interested in the game because it looks so similar to SMG1. That wouldn't diminish my excitement about the game.
No, but EVERYTIME a game is brought up, why does it have to be brought down, both you and Phantom "dis'ed" the game in the last post about it...why do it again? What is the point??
Because this is a discussion forum and we're discussing our opinions. It just so happens that our opinions disagree.
And I don't see any posts where anyone is calling Final Fantasy XIV "stupid." Phantom and I agree that FF MMOs should be numbered separately instead of included as part of the main series, but I don't see where Phantom comments about anything other than the game's title.
