O boy... this is a hard one....
i have a top.... 5... ish.... *cough* possibly seven*cough*
Favorite BOOK # 1
1st + 2nd Timothy: I can't fully explain the "why" here... it is just... i think timothy has some really good stuff in it. Every time i read it, i get something GREAT out of those books, no matter how many times i read them. It is like your favorite food... there is no why... it is just the food that tastes best to you.
Favorite BOOK # 2
Ecclesiastes: when one reads Ecclesiastes it forces one to re-evaluate everything in one's life to what really counts... not just the temporary joys... such a great book.
Favorite BOOK # 3
Psalms... i just can't get over of how amazing that book is. I have read and re-read chapters in that book (i kid you not) probably hundreds of times (the really popular ones... not all of them). while in its entirety i've read the book 3-5 times... and every time i read it... i just can't get over how... ummm... much it puts into words my feelings for God. I can read it when i'm mad... and it has a place... i can read it when i'm joyful... and it has a place... i can read when i am discouraged and it has a place... etc. etc.
Favorite BOOK # 4
Romans : love the theology... such a great book... with most books i can usually sit and read threw 4-7 chapters before i get bored or just... "overwhelmed" yet with romance... once i read one-three chapters... i'm REALLY overwhelmed... it is like the really good food that you can just take small bites and it gives you flavor ALL day.
Favorite BOOK # 5
1st + 2nd Samuel: I love reading about King David, Josiah, and a couple of the others... i would name them... yet i don't think i would hit them all... and once i start... i would HAVE to get them right... I love them for one... war... because i'm a guy... and i love the adrenaline of fighting. and two just the lesson that can be learned from these holy men of God.
I thought about it... and updated my list.
