Favorite Book of the Bible

Ecclesiastes.

It summarizes every major philosophy throughout history, from hedonism to humanism, in succinct fashion. There truly is "nothing new under the sun." Then the book boils down man's purpose to two simple verses. As a journalist, I have to respect that kind of brevity.

O boy... this is a hard one....

i have a top.... 5... ish.... *cough* possibly seven*cough*

Favorite BOOK # 1

1st + 2nd Timothy: I can't fully explain the "why" here... it is just... i think timothy has some really good stuff in it. Every time i read it, i get something GREAT out of those books, no matter how many times i read them. It is like your favorite food... there is no why... it is just the food that tastes best to you.

Favorite BOOK # 2

Ecclesiastes: when one reads Ecclesiastes it forces one to re-evaluate everything in one's life to what really counts... not just the temporary joys... such a great book.

Favorite BOOK # 3

Psalms... i just can't get over of how amazing that book is. I have read and re-read chapters in that book (i kid you not) probably hundreds of times (the really popular ones... not all of them). while in its entirety i've read the book 3-5 times... and every time i read it... i just can't get over how... ummm... much it puts into words my feelings for God. I can read it when i'm mad... and it has a place... i can read it when i'm joyful... and it has a place... i can read when i am discouraged and it has a place... etc. etc.

Favorite BOOK # 4

Romans : love the theology... such a great book... with most books i can usually sit and read threw 4-7 chapters before i get bored or just... "overwhelmed" yet with romance... once i read one-three chapters... i'm REALLY overwhelmed... it is like the really good food that you can just take small bites and it gives you flavor ALL day.

Favorite BOOK # 5

1st + 2nd Samuel: I love reading about King David, Josiah, and a couple of the others... i would name them... yet i don't think i would hit them all... and once i start... i would HAVE to get them right... I love them for one... war... because i'm a guy... and i love the adrenaline of fighting. and two just the lesson that can be learned from these holy men of God.

I thought about it... and updated my list.

How many "Favorite book of the Bible" are there?

I have only 1 book that has all of Glitch's listed in Chapters.

I like Acts for the sake of the turmoil and loss as to how they felt really relates to today when your mentor takes leave.I honestly pay no attention to revelation only because I find it reaching forward to something I need not worry about. The world is messed up and like thats a news flash when an end was promised well before a dream was needed to assist those whom evangelize.

i posted the "semi" same thing... a little edited. i was just thinking about it all day... so i finally got the idea and posted the "final" copy.

I like the book of Daniel. It shows that God is in control of the nations of the world. It also shows that he will protect those who love Him. I also find it interesting how he worked with Nebuchadnezzar throughout the king's life.

I like the Book of Isaiah for many of the same reasons. God is in control. Plus, the fact that they both talk about future events. :D Must have been something else to have known what was going to happen before it happened. A blessing and a burden.

There are so many good choices, it's hard to say which I like "the best" I could probably give you a top 20...maybe 25? :)

One particular area that has always seemed interesting to me is how much it is stressed in the New Testament that we have to work together, fellowship together, etc.... which points directly back at Nehemiah. Seriously, one dude had it placed on his heart that Jerusalem needed it's walls rebuilt so that it was protected from random invaders and vandals. He hooked up with fellow believers and rebuilt the walls of a town that was commonly seen as a threat to the king, with the king's blessing!

Something more interesting still, if you read the passages, they *fixed* the wall, repaired it, patched it. It's typically seen as MUCH easier to tear down and start anew, but instead, these men of God took the hard road to protect God's city. It's just amazing to see how much good can be accomplished if we all put forth a little effort and work together. Nehemiah didn't have to rebuild the wall himself, he got a lot of people to help - many hands make light work, right?
