Byblos, WHY did I confront you on Morrowind?

At one point you were complaining that magic in games was bad, yet you loved Morrowind, WHICH HAS MAGIC IN IT.

When I asked you about it, you claimed there was no such thing as magic in the game.

When I proved you wrong you changed your story.

Or don't you remember any of that?

I never claimed your beliefs were idiotic, yet you have no qualms about doing so concerning my beliefs.

I am not imposing my beliefs on anyone. When have I EVER done that?

I am here to learn from YOU. Why you believe what you believe.

How many times have you answered the door on a Sunday morning only to be confronted by two very nice gentlemen that wanted to explain the merits of Atheism with you?

NEVER.

Now how about the other side? Christians believe it is there DUTY, their GOD GIVEN RIGHT to go out and convert people. CHRISTIANS are the ones imposing their beliefs on others. If I say no thank you, I'd rather not follow your beliefs, then you scowl and damn me to eternal hell.

So yeah, I'm going to ask WHY you believe in the things that you do.

Hey, I was asking a question not making an inference about all athiests. I wanted to know why you were coming to these forums. I'm not trying to scare you off or something, I'm trying to figure out why.

In fact we don't just believe, it is our duty to tell all people about the truth. We aren't ordered to CONVERT people. We tell them about Jesus, then the Holy Spirit works through them and they have to decide. Have I ever cursed at you or condemned you? No! I don't just leave you to your fate. If I let somebody I could've saved be tormented for eternity, I would be ashamed.

Why? I'll tell you why. Is there any other religion or belief that promises peace and love? A perfect life for eternity with a God who loves every single one of us. The God who created the entire universe. No other eligion promises such hope. And not false hope, true hope. ANd we have faith. Where we don't NEED to prove God exists, but have faith.

Then why do you get upset when someone questions YOU? You question others' beliefs, but get upset when someone questions yours? Especially since YOUR belief is damning unbelievers to an eternity in hell! Don't you think that's going to create more than a few questions? Every now and then you need to stop and see things from the other side.

Don't most religions promote peace and love?

That whole quote, taken by itself, would lead one to believe that you follow your religion, not because you think it's RIGHT, but because of what you get out of it.

And once again, you fall back on faith, you don't need or want anything to do with proof. Who cares when you have faith?

It is not outside the realm of possibility that atheism is a false belief, but there is nothing available to us that allows anyone to draw such a conclusion. That is the difference between 'belief' and 'fact.'

Let me say this plainly.

You cannot make the statement 'God exists' conclusively.

We cannot make the statement 'God does not exist' conclusively.

What we CAN do is make arguements for our side to explain why it is a more reasonable stance. But I am not seeing much of this, I am more often seeing statements like 'Atheism is an idiotic belief.' Pardon me, but, that's just idiotic.
 
The people that have Gud controlling their lives can make the statement God exists... we just cannot possibly prove it to you.

Well... living for this world to someone who lives for God does seem like a waste of their life.... That is why I call it idiotic.. not because the athiests are al idiots but because they are making idiotic use of their life.... even if they dont know it.

Theres this really great book for you scientific types called CASE FOR A CREATOR. If you really want to find evidence for a God, you should read it. It explains why. Only if you desperately are searching, but I reccomend it.

Please explain how atheists are wasting this life.

I have already given you sufficient proof as to why atheists make the most of this life, but you seem to be ignoring it.

Why are atheists wasting their lives?
 
THey are wasting their lives because what they do with their lives is tempoarary and what a Christian does in their life is eternal.
 
Byblos, whether you like it or not, we ALL live in the here and now, in this temporary physical life.

Atheists make the most out this life becuase we believe THIS IS IT. That is not a waste. Nor is it idiotic.
