Mithra.[b said:Quote[/b] (4t0p @ Nov. 06 2003,12:26)]The arguement against Christmas, plz correct me if I'm wrong, is that it is horribly not the time of year when he would have been born, the holiday is centered around the winter solstice(sp?) and pagan celebrations of that ...
Huh? They do? Like which ones? I'm genuinely curious...[b said:Quote[/b] ]most Christmas hymns have very bad doctrine as their basis.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
Angels dont sing. I could be wrong but I think that is what cherubim and seraphim are for. As far as the tree I think that is suuposed to represent the tree of life of the two trees in the garden of Eden. It is supposed to represent Yeshua as being the new Adam and the tree of life, or somthing like that. I am actually undecided whether I will celebrate Christmas or not. Maby we should move christmas to September?[b said:Quote[/b] ]Where does it say that the angels sang "Alleluia"
