Car broke down again

Doh! Car broke down again today on the highway. The car stayed on, but was shuddering like crazy and would rev but not accelerate. The check engine light came on. I figured out trying to get it off the highway that if it revved over 2000 rpms it would shudder like crazy. Pray that it isn't anything too expensive.

Also let me praise God for this chance to glorify Him with my attitude when things aren't going well. To Him be all the glory!

That's why you check your oil every once in a while Bill.. haha.. J/k that stinks,
but if it is expensive maybe God has another car lined up for ya.

sorry to hear about your car, bill! :(

Sounds like it was misfiring. If this is something that's happened before it might be bad spark plugs or a bad distributor cap and rotor. Aren't cars fun? Infinite money pits lol.

I know how u feel Bill. My bike has been giving me problems too lately: exposed wire which blew the fuse, clutch cable broke, etc. :( It happened when I was riding on the road too and I'm really thankful I didn't get run over or something. It is an old bike and is running fine now, but I can't help to wonder what's going to break down next. *LOL*

Got an update on the car. It's the maf (mass airflow sensor). Basically the air filter connects to the maf and throttle body. The maf basically detects the amount of airflow that goes into the throttle body. Funny that it's actually something I'm familiar with. They are charging me $789 to replace it. /facepalm. It's a $150 part that I could replace myself... Only thing I can't do is reprogram the ECM in the car. Still the service is overpriced.. I should have taken it to my car place and not the dealership. Live and learn I guess.

Also got an update about the job I had interviewed twice for. It came down to me and one other designer. The other designer had more experience than me, so they went with them. So close!

Good thing no matter what comes against me I am saved by grace! :)

Since God is sovereign, none of your difficulties are outside of His control. God is allowing all things (including these trials in your life) for a purpose. In Isaiah - God says that He tries us in the furnace of affliction, to refine us. I have been lower than low, and have lost all things materially speaking, yet there is a sweet time in those difficulties of the Lord drawing us unto Himself.

God is perhaps removing any pillar of self-reliance in your world - in order that you might lean solely on Him. I don't say this in a judgmental way, but God refines those whom He loves and uses for His glory. I have been refined many times, and am still in the refining fire.

Christ is my treasure and my hope, my God will provide, and brother I am praying for you every day!

Ooh that sucks man. I hate sending my car to the dealership or a mechanic, it's always so expensive. I had a mechanic charge me $1000 to redo the ring and pinion in my rear axle and fully rebuild it. That was 3 years ago and looking back now I could have done it myself for less than $300. I hope your don't have anymore car troubles!

I own a Jeep Cherokee so for me it's Just Empty Every Pocket... Literally lol.

Wow, Pneuma - to hear you describe it you ought to be burnt to a crisp by now! LOL!

Seriously, Bill - I am telling you God has something great lined up for you. If I know you like I think I do, you would not be above working in a convenience store somewhere, but I do not think that is where you will go... God has something really special for you. Follow these closed doors to the one that is open. Don't let your talent sit idle, either. Freelance or donate some work to churches and ministries, or even community service organizations. Seek non-traditional means of working. To coin a phrase, think outside the box. Get some of you best buds and mentors to sit down to have a jam session of possibilities and ideas of where to look. God gave us all this wonderful, physical instrument that many are often guilty of not using: the brain. Like Him, you have a free thinking will, subjected to Christ, that can carry you a long ways when put to work.

I am praying for you. I am tired of seeing Tots do without the joy that Christ has sent her way in you! You lucky guy! Or I really should say - you are so blessed! I have a feeling that you two are going to make an awesome team. And as an old gospel song by (I think) Lanny Wolfe says, "I've got a feeling everything's gonna be alright!" Faith....thee substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen.
