Not at all. To me, your words speak of a stronger, more thought out faith. I never suggested you or anyone was driving him away from faith.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]Jim, can you tell me more about this "Orange Walk"? I've never heard of that before.
Orange Walks, I believe, celebrate a battle in history when a Catholic army tried to breach the walls of city populated by Protestants. According to them, two boys shouted out 'No Surrender!' And remained loyal to King William. Ever since then, Orange walks, led by a leader of a Protestant 'Orange Lodge' (Basically a hang-out for them) are organised. Personally, I think it was some kind of arrogant display of defiance. I don't even know if this battle turned out quite like that, but I believe it was based on a true battle.
Tensions are quite bad here in UK. Tensions between the two are everywhere, usually based on Ireland. For example, a common 'identity' of Catholics is to support Celtic football team, wear green and hate the Queen. The Protestants usually support rangers and wave Union Jack flags and sing 'God Save the Queen', no doubt copying the Ulster Loyalists. Because of the thuggery between the two, tensions run high not only between Catholics and Protestants but between the Scottish and English, who still retain a sense of rivalry.
I can't remember what 'walks' Catholics went on, but I do remember my mother telling about them, telling me the two sides were as bad as each other. And she is a Catholic!
