BATTLECRY!!!

You should also remember the bible verse that states that people will claim that they know when God is coming back.... (just read the last three scentences of your post... right *coughs* this isnt to bash what your saying in the slightes.... you've got me more than convinced, it is extremely thought provoking... mind if i copy it to a secular forum?

Could you post that scripture? I need to state again, this is no prediction of Jesus' return. No man knows the day or the hour of Jesus' return but God has given us many times and seasons to watch out for and He has made sure this information was available to us in the scriptures.

I'm thinking you were asking "me" about using the information from my posts on another forum. If you were speaking to me then I think that will be fine. I'm not worried about an type of credit. The information is there for the purpose of evangelism and I have freely received so I need to freely give.

Jud 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
Jud 1:22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting;
Jud 1:23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

(If you weren't speaking to me then disregard this post...LOL)

no not that, more then that. the ice caps are melting, people have found polar bears that have drowned cause there wasnt any ice for them to stand on. watch "An Inconvient Truth" after that there is nobody that can argue with that.

Yeah, you mean the non-existent global warming then.

No i was not only speaking to "you" i was just stating that Mark 13:32 says (msg) But the exact day and hour? No one knows that, Not even heaven's angels, not even the Son. Only the Father. So keep a sharp lookout, for you dont know the timetable.

To me, that means no one will figure it out no matter how smart you are.... lol but my opinion is just my opinion. i put full trust in what the bible says to be accurate and if it says no one knows, no one knows.

I think it's all very interesting. I knew about adding up the ages of OT people to get 4000 BC, but I'd never heard the whole 6 days thing.

There is alot of logic and intuition to that arguement. I don't think it is wise to dwell on it though. Certainly, God could have planned for an earth exactly 6000 years old, and there are many things pointing to that. But it should never go further than "an interesting thought."

Trying to forsee the rapture and the end of the world is not only impossible, it's dangerous. There's a reason "the day and hour are unknown." Imagine people knowing that they can live their lives how they want to only to repent once the hour is drawing near. Hardly real repentance. Imagine Christians using the end of the world as scare tactics to lure people into a "relationship" with God. There would be no love, only fear. (And that already happens.)

DahcsLion, I realize you're not trying to play the prophet, but reread your first post on the matter. You've declared doom on America and the rest of the world culminating in the final destruction in the solar year 2029. And while it makes for good conversation and anyone is free to believe it as truth, it is one of those beliefs that should be kept in the background of our faith--that is to say, we should not live by it..

It is in the same catagory of many other Christian beliefs that have been passed around denominations over the years: Predestination, the elevation of Mary (Jesus' mom), Purgatory, the list goes on and on and on and on, but none of them should affect our mission as believers in Christ which is to make Him known and to ever strive to be like Him.

I guess, then, my point is that all of us should plan on being on earth exactly as long as God wants us here and, instead of dwelling on exactly how long that will be, take the knowledge that He does want us here and live our lives accordingly. That's all I've got.

6 days as in 6 days of Creation?

it's one of those things will not absolute answer. No one was around writing when the creation process began...so we don't have an eye witness account

It's basically based on what we call the "begots" (so and so begot so and so who begot so and so) and basically try to average when the person would've been born in his parent's life, and add up the generations and genealogies
