Are you willing to give it all away

If I knew it was God telling me to do that, yes. It would require proper identification tho.

I tried to kill the topic, but, nonetheless, its cool you replied as you did.

I believe it to be important that you do Gods will for his sake and not for your own.

As for trading it all to live in the Third world, to live life as they do, wouldn't be such a drastic step.

What would we be giving up? What we call convenience items, thats all.

Would we be exposed to any more disease then we are now? No. Although they live in conditions that breed diseases we have mostly cured in our world, we live in a world that is riddled with uncurable disease. I beleive this is scarrier. Flesh eating disease, immune bacterium, HIV, AIDs and cancer.

We would be exposed to anymore death? No, death for all of us is certian. And many days go by that I wonder what it would be like to be with the Lord. So, even a sooner death would be a blessing.

We work, they don't. We need money to carry on in our society. They are not nearly as dependant. Where I live, I see -30'C temperatures, so I would need warm clothes and a roof over my head. I think in some ways, the homeless and poor in my town have it rougher then those in Ethopia.

Oh sure... In Africa 1 person in 3 has AIDS, because of lack of money for contraception and the lack of education about it. Disease is endemic. Poverty is rife. Death is not a metaphysical certainty - it is stepping over starved and wasted bodies on the way to the market to buy food that would have made you summon the manager in a US store.

What would you be giving up?

Eon

Because of lack of education and contraception?
I seem to think that if you keep the sex with your wife/husband and don't inbreed or have beastiality, you'll be just fine.
Look at us: we were fine until we were infiltrated by the queer. Is that because of a lack of education or contraception? No. It's because we want it.
And.....I give my money when I can: but I don't think I'd ever give it all away. I could always do something with it for others, as well.

Ultima Avatar this is possibly the most enraging post I've ever read on these forums. I'm really trying not to say much because I could easily give an innapropriate response while I'm this mad. Let me just say that it's people who say things like that, like you, who give Christianity a bad name.

Didn't Jerry Fallwell say something along those lines around 9-11? I don't agree with him or care to be associated with the likes of him.

Jesus gave his life for us, his life. Who would we be to not give up money or anything else he asked of us?

umm, homosexuals didnt infect all us straight people with aids dummy, aids is a virus you think it cares about your sexual prefrences? no it doesnt!

as for giveing it all up sure, i would be happy to, just as soon as i was done with it...

if he didnt mean it like that, why did he type it that way, and if someone tells me to calm down one more time im gonna........... uhh.......... smoke some weed, drink a few beers, pop in a porno, and really get *calmed* down.

Because when you are in your teens you don't think before you post sometimes. I have done it before. It's easy.

bah excuses, excuses, quit apologizeing for him. let him come out and apologize for his misleading post.

OK dude, it was a stupid thing to say,im sure you've all made him FEEL stupid, so lets just drop it...why are you so offended, anyway? are you gay?
wink.gif

....
Geez. I suppose I could have phrased that differently. Perhaps I'll go water it down.
Or maybe not.
Wow. So what's so bad about my post?
And I'll tell you something: AIDS is characterized by sudden cut in the T cells, and it is most seen in gays, and is also transferred through genes, because, we all know that sometimes gays become straight, down through descendants. So you know: I might have AIDS because Great-great-great Grandpa Bob was a tad odd.
AIDS is also caused by IV injections of certain (illegal) drugs, and you know: is stored through the bloodstream and in bodily secretions, such as semen, which, for some odd reason, carries with it life. So you know, that's how AIDS gets spread around: gays and needles.
What's so outrageous about my post? Was it the word "Queer"? Should I go and say "Gay" or "Homosexual"? Tell me: where did I slip?
And GodlyLeet, what's your problem?

Do I need to be black to be offended by the Ku Klux Klan?

Faulting homosexuals for AIDS is irresponsible and bigoted. It's a total myth that gay men carry AIDS, that certainly isn't true nowadays. The disease is caused by sharing most bodily fluids with another person (blood, semen, etc...), it's spread just as easily from man to woman as from man to man. Drug needles are often unsterilized and passed from person to person, thus sharing eachother's blood, you are right about that. Although it doesn't matter that the drugs are illegal, it doesn't even matter whats in the needle, its spread through the sharing of blood.

The phrase "Infiltrated by the queer" is vicious and condescending. As if they are some sub-human enemy of us "normal" folk. As if you can just blame and stereotype an entire group of people like that for a terrible disease, when it isn't even true is ignorant and offensive. Even if you don't see it, I'm glad other people who read it do.

Usage of the phrase "Inflitrated by the Queer" as if they were some sort of alien race, undermines your opinion on this subject - since it obviously extends from intolerance rather than erudition

Ah so that was it. I figured that would be just about it.
I was a little loud about that one. It is true what someone said: I didn't think about it.
I thank you for sharing your enraged concern.
However, I must tell you: America's own premium pay cable TV made up a show entitled: Queer as Folk. I heard zero outrage about that show: it was about gays as everyday normal folk: gays at work, gays at home, gays at the store, gays in the bedroom, gays eating, gays sleeping, gays mowing the lawn.....well, maybe not that. BUt you know, that was the main circle of the show: gays are just like the straights, only different.
Note the title: QUEER.
And Eon, it may just well be intolerance. It just may. If I find out a friend is gay, that's usually a shocker, and I just slowly edge away, after trying to see exactly why they're gay, or if it is possible they would want to be straight. Also, you know, I may witness to them. For some reason, I usually don't, and that's a bad thing.
But we're humans. And humans falter. So don't look at my scathing title for these type as an ultimatum on my personality.
Perhaps I'll reword it. "Mingled with the gay?" Would that be better. "Or homosexuality entered and was legalized in our nation?"
And Mustard, since when was it a myth that homosexuals carried the AIDS? Didn't you see the other half of my post, or did you just want to use that one part "and is most seen in gays" against me?
I say this because it is true: some gays have sex with women. And some gays have AIDS. And some gays transmit that AIDS into women, who just may have a kid, who just may grow up to be a straight man with AIDS, who just may marry a woman and have three or four youngsters, maybe a couple girls, and now all have AIDS.
Thus it is spread.
As for needles: yeah, it's not necessarily the drug, but the state of the needle: sometimes unsterilized in the passing of illegal drugs.
And you know what: God never said being heterosexual is a sin. That's how he made us. Man in his own twisted way decided to turn from that path to look after their own same kind. Disgusting.
ANd if you think that I'm bigoted because I say homosexuality is a gross sin, then I would love to hear what you have to say on that. Can I expect any Christians to counter that, or are you just going to say, "God says to love everyone, and that includes the gay?"

The statement "Queer as folk" comes from the North English expression that "there's nowt as queer as folk". Meaning that nothing in the world is odder than the people inhabiting it.

It's an amusing play on words - and one that I doubt would offend the gay community.

Eon

Why not? Gays are oftimes termed "Queer". And the show is about gays after all: Showtime took great use of that phrase: Queer as Folk about, hey, Queers! Imagine.
So while the expression may not offend some, perhaps the three words, Queer as Folk, would. You never know.
So when I call someone queer, it is bad?
Confused.
