ArcheAge

People don't keep up with their housing and guildies watch out for real estate that is about to become available for you. I have had these experiences in Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, and Archeage alpha. Sometimes RL pulls people away, other times people forget to log in, quit, move, or can't keep up with their upkeep. If you do miss out on the initial landrush, you will have other opportunities at owning land at a later time, they just won't be as many.

I'm only curious but is it going to be conceivable to bum off of other players property to craft gear? I mean I know about the labor points thing but I assume there is some catch to stop f2p players from using another player or their land to get what they need?

Also curious if the races can swap factions. Read something about being able to be thrown out of your faction but it sounds like that pertains to joining the all inclusive pirate faction not a Haranya/Nuia swap. I admit the desire to play a kitty cat but have no other interest in the game, much like Final Fantasy. I'd stand in the street and type "Cat, I'm a kitty cat and I dance, dance, dance and dance, dance, dance" until someone screams. My time would also involve naps and meowing until someone gives me food er... gear :p. What you mean this isn't Cat Simulator 2014?

Honestly the trade system sounds like the one in Silkroad though that game was broken beyond belief XD. I can't help but wonder if someone will run a "Guardian Escort Service" to protect traders like Silkroad's hunters were. Seems like a fun way to make cash without risking investment in goods.

This bothers me... all well.

Rated M because the world just doesn't care anymore, sigh :( .

The crafting system is very innovative and completely different than anything I have ever experienced in an MMO.

You cannot swap factions with your race. Any race can become kicked from their faction and become a pirate, that's as far as faction-changing goes.

...and YES, you can live in someone else's home provided they give you permission to do so and use storage & farm/craft. You can also open your home to your guild for them to freely use storage and your farm....be aware this can cause some conflicts when people accidentally or intentionally harvest items that don't belong to them. You CAN create a "family" and add friends to your family, then open the home to just them.

It may be to early but I'd also gather a consensus of what server and faction people want to be playing on well prior to launch or whenever final character wipe is.

That link is not correct, also it seems the forums got put in as a child to the Aion forums. Might want to have that adjusted.

I downloaded it and am about to create a character (most certainly NOT a kitty cat...). Is this one of those mega server platforms or what server is the ToJ going to be on?

lol It looks like I downloaded and installed the client just in time for the beta run to end. I saw the server select screen, then quit to see if there was a particular server ToJ was using and by the time I tried to log in the game servers are down. Pretty much sums up the past six months of my life.

I was able to login just now, so it's still up for at least a little bit longer.
EDIT: Beta just ended at 1PM EST / 10AM PST

I downloaded and installed it since a chapter was made, but I don't think it's really one of those games I'd be committed to play. But maybe a part of that is because my laptop is running the hybrid graphics setup and is pretty old (Intel HD Graphics 5000/NVIDIA GeForce 310m) it's about 30-40fps on the lowest settings.

Still, I wish everyone who has joined the best :)

I actually jumped into ArcheAge on a whim. And by 'jumped in', I played enough to go patron and hop into the 'Ezi' server when it went live, full land rush, got my thatched farmhouse plot in a place I like (I was actually the first to put a place down in that particular area ^^). Me and the wife have been playing mostly together. KITTY CATS FOR EVAH.

I played some in open beta and I have played a tiny bit since launch. For myself, I am not really impressed. This is a game where the hype was far more than what it turned out to be. Just my opinion of course. I just don't really find it enjoyable game play.
