lol i do feel bad killing lowbie mobs who get in the way. it's SUPER SAD!!
 
It is definitely excruciatingly boring to do. In a way that's disconcertingly jarring compared to how un-grindy Bliz has made so many other activities in the game. However, having built up other professions over years, I'm sure that messes with my perspective. Leveling fishing from 1 to 525 would be every so much worse. All other professions can be power-leveled to some extent by the time you're high-level, either by aoe-bombing the mobs for the skill or mats, or by buying the mats off the AH. Arch is probably most like mining or herbing, where you spent time flying around having to pick up stuff.

The weird thing about Arch is that it seems like it would be a total pain to do it while you're leveling. First, because of the travel time to the sites. Second, because of the travel time within the sites doing the surveing (not to mention aggroing mobs that could actually hurt you).

Overall, I'm totally happy for the addition of another secondary profession to the game. But arch is strangely unsatisfying, at least so far ... other time-fillers like dailies or rep grinding are getting more of my (limited) attention.
 
why did blizzard think the players will be interested in this?
do we even read the story for the quests that we ARE doing??

I read them... why it took me a couple days longer to hit 85... Noticed Poly lvled in 2days what took Mordos a week.
 
Yeah, I always read them the first time around. When it comes time to level alts, I'll speed through zones I've already done, and make a point of going to new zones and reading those quests as well.

By time I get to my third or fourth alt, I'm just speeding through everything.
 
I was crazy enough to level it up to 525. No vial of sands yet, but did get the nice epic caster account bound ring, the mount, pet, gadgets, and also have the epic robe in process.
 
Nice Sedesh! Only item of real interest I have so far (other than mounts/pets) is the epic 2 handed troll sword. I'm hoping for the dwarf caster staff
 
I would love to get that sword... It would make me change one of my two Holy specs to Ret hehe. I've done a LOT of troll Arch but no score yet. I just can't get back in the mood to do any Arch lately.
 
The only profession that can make profit from leveling Arch is Alchemy. And let me tell you, the profit potential is through the roof with Vial of the Sands.

It's not so much profit as it is massive rewards. Being your own dragon mount who can taxi people around? - ftw. Although I question its price.
