Archaeology

i've tried it a few times, then just dropped it as i was bored out of my head and with limited time and so much else to do, meh. maybe if they made it so you actually randomly find a epic treasures, it might be more fun.
 
As someone with 525 archaeology skill, I have a message for all those who want to level Archaeology:

ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE.

I recommend getting it just high enough to get the raptor mount and then call it quits. For the same amount of time you would put into getting an 85 epic, you could have spent on any other profession (like say... fishing and cooking) and made enough gold to outright buy an equivalent epic on the AH.
 
here is my 2 cents

yes Arch doesn't make money; doesn't give you things that's better than other epics out there.

but it remains an option to get epics on your own.
yes you can get them from tailoring and other stuff, but the epics that you get from arch is not the same slot as those (at least not for me)

so i would still do it because running heroics is a pain right now.
and i want to be over geared for heroics and get ready for raids

if arch can help me to get there, i will try it.

besides it's something you do after you have done your dailies and while waiting for other things to queue up (for dps it's a 40min wait to get into heroics and you may get booted after 5....) so.....

plus with some planning it doesn't have to be as big of a pain as it needs to
