Add On's

I don't use any addons other than deadly boss mods (in the case a weekly does a boss I don't know) and recount dps meter to know how well I'm doing.

Imo you don't need addons like you used to.

Don't listen to Oddbob, addons are AWESOME! :D

My main addons are:

Pitbull 4 - unit frames
Grid - raid frames
Bartender - action bar mod
Quartz - casting bar with latency built-in
DoTimer - DOTs, HOTs, cooldown timers
Recount - damage meter
Omen - threat meter
Move Anything - lets you move anything on the screen
BugGrabber - hides addon error messages

I use a bunch more too, some for aesthetics, some for more info on the screen.

I agree with both Q and Odale. Two years ago, I can't imagine playing without addons. But now ... some formerly really important addons have been built into the game. Questhelper is now built-in. Equipment Manager/ItemRack is now built-in. Floating Combat Text is now built-in.

And in some cases, functionality has overcome the need for addons. For instance, as a Moonkin, Squawk and Awe is somethign I used to watch eclipse cooldowns. But eclipse now works COMPLETELY differently so it's moot.

Some addons stilll help gameplay. DBM. Recount. Grid. Omen/Threat. Quartz. Some remain really convenient info sources or functionality (Fubar+MoneyFu+PerformanceFu+etc ... although Fubar still hasnt' been updated for 4.0.1 so I'm considering moving to Titan ... suggestions anyone?). Vendorizer (sells gray items automatically at vendor). ReputationWatch that switches the reputation on the XP bar to whatever the last thing is that you got rep with. Tiptac (to relocate and reshape the tooltip). Razernaga (barmod I use since I sometimes use that mouse, and it's a decent barmod). Auctioneer.

If I were restarting playing the game, I'd start with as few as possible -- Odale's setup. Then gradually build up with what people recommend and when you say "hmm, I wish there was a mod that did X" and found it.

so weird seeing other people's interfaces lol....mine's pretty much wow standard. Yeah they have the built in quest helper, built in grid, built in equip manager, as well as alerts for special things with your spells that proc things...that's pretty neat. I still use recount and DBM.

THE ABSOLUTE MUST addon i have to have.....it gmerchant :P everytime you go to a vendor or a repair vendor it automatically clears your bags of grey items and repairs for you. Love it...make a lot more money now from picking up grey items cause i dont have to worry about going through it all later :P

How are you liking Tukui, Ewoks? I've been usin it since v5, up to v12 and I absolutely love it. I use the non-modded version and edit it a little myself and throw in a few of my own addons.

Love it!
Thanks so much for letting me in on it. A little bit of LUA editing is fun stuff. So many great things are incorporated into tukui that I don't need half the mods ppl use. Of course I love mods so I still have like 20 addons lol.

I have 8gig of ram in my system, so I am not that worried about mb usage, but for sure my zygor guide addon takes up the most.
I am waiting for black friday so i can make a "work" purchase and get a new video card.

I'm not worried about my system not being able to handle it, it's more seeing the red MB usage numbers in my performance addon lol.

Gemz and Glyphs! The markup on glyphs is insane right now. They cost 10-15g to make, and I sell them for 80-120g each. They've been funding the "care packages" i've been sending out!

I like having a LOT of buttons visible on my screen - main abilities, professions, on-use quest items, fun items, macros, mounts, pets, etc. So I use Bartender to scale down my bars so they aren't so much in the way:

Not a great pic of my UI, but it's the only one I feel comfortable sharing that's already been uploaded LOL. I'll get a better one later.
