The Men of God server (do a search for *MoG* and you should find it) is friendly. The problem is that they use a lot of custom maps and if you want to play on that server you will have to DL them from the Men of God website ( http://menofgod.us/moh/ ).

There is lots of stuff that still needs to be done. The musket and pistol are just re-skinned WW2 weapons right now. Items like the med-pack, mines, and nades need to be "pirate-ized". I think it is pretty fun, even it this early stage.
