How does the wood farm work? do I just stand on the platform and cut the wood down and it just regrows?

I renovated! I removed the lava from my door way. I just felt it did not fit with the theme of my area. I think it looks much better now. I also removed the dirt "bridge" going across the water to my area and replaced it with a nice stone bridge! Check it out!
