Well, today is the Chick-fil-A appreciation day. I went and had lunch with a friend. Here's a few pictures.

The line was wrapped around the building, out into the parking lot, and out into the neighboring parking lot.

Same here. I hate how we are consistently losing our right to freedom of speech due to socialism & liberalism.
 
Went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch at the local mall today, there must have been several hundred people there. For the 2 or so hours I was there the line consistently stretched all the way through the food court and to the doors of the mall.

I totally had no idea today was appreciation day. I just wanted a sandwich. But holy crap the parking lot was completely packed.

My wife is also vegan, you can still eat the fries.:D They are cooked in oil that's just for them. I'd forward you the e-mail from the company, but it has long since been purged from my inbox.
 
Took 2 tries to get in one. Went to a city about 25 mins away and it was backed up about a mile each way. Went back to one about 15 mins from home the other way. It was only backed up 1/2 mile one way. Once I got in my better half claimed a table while I ordered, it only took about 15 mins to get an order in, and very fast to get it filled. I normally don't eat chicken, but if nothing else this was a matter of freedom of speech. I didn't serve in the military so some yahoo could tell everyone else what to think and say. They may even have a return customer, the staff was obviously very tired, but still pleasant and helpful. And despite being slammed like that the place was clean. Hooray for Chik-fil-a. And yes there was a small handful of protesters trying to stop traffic, but I never saw anyone get in a confrontation with them, or give them the time of day.
 
Took the family to the mall to support Chick-Fil-A tonight (sadly we only have one and it's inside the mall). The line went across the food court, out the door and infront of the Irish restaurant when we go there. By the time we left it was past two more stores and the entrance to the parking garage. It's really good to see the outpouring of support.
 
Every time I've been in one they have always been clean and the staff has been very helpful and friendly. Accidents in the play place are always cleaned up immediately. Often times there will be an employee wandering the lobby offering refills for people or helping them with whatever. My wife is a regular fixture at our local Chick Fil A because they have so many events going on for the community. It started by going to one of their weekly craft or book nights to a regular get together for a bunch of the moms in our church.

It's good to be able to exercise our free speech. I just hope those of us that support Chick Fil A and it's leadership can be as respectful of freedom on Friday as we were today.
 
Am I missing something? why are so many people going there at once, would the same happen for McDonald's,Burger King, Etc. if they had an appreciation day?

Because the owner made a stand for the sanctity of marriage , liberal media went "Waahhhh!" and then conservative media was like "ORLY?" and then liberal media was like "Huffy huffy huffffff[ington]" and then Huckabee was like "Let's eat some chicken, yall!"

That's what happened.
 
The best part of the whole thing was when the mayors of Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago told Chik-fil-a they weren't welcome in "their" town.

In response to the Chick-fil-A appreciation day, same-sex couples intend to make out in-front of, possibly in, Chick-fil-A's. From the news reports I have read, where exactly on the property they intend to do this seems to be guesses.

Here are a couple news stories on the day, with notes in them about Friday. Both are from what most consider conservative, but that is normally where I get my news.

I disagree. It is possible you could have Westboro or some nut do something that allows the media an excuse to paint everyone as hatemongers, but, since when has media needed an excuse? The truth is while we would like people to have the courage to stand alone, solely on their convictions, against the world many won't without support. There are many out there who will not see us unless they see it on their web news site or TV, the undecided, the non-Christian who still dislikes homosexuality and the children who would never see a pro-traditional marriage stance otherwise. I've lived long enough to see vulgar internet posters influenced by PC media from "gay" as an insult to "gay" being ok (while still using every other vulgarity). Mass media influence happens and we would be remiss to not use it while others do. The poster of that article seems to want us to be forever submissive to letting immoral ideas speak louder. Today is not like days of yore where word of mouth was the only means of reaching people. Media (internet, TV) is heard by more people than anything else. In fact the internet is now the only connection to the world for some and if they don't see us on their news site they won't know. Will media paint us fairly? No but people will see it and know many people, not just fringe radicals, reject homosexuality.

Will it polarize people? Probably but it's better than being silent and submitting to a slow atrophy. Reminds me of how Republicans, the supposed smaller government party, keep compromising. Of course if they took a stronger stance it could offend someone and get nothing done. Wait what have they gotten done again? Is the government smaller? Is the budget balanced? Is our government moving towards Christian morality? Getting along has gotten us nowhere but in a worse spot and Republicans are still blamed for not compromising.

Muses: I wonder if Chick-Fil-A will run out of food or have they planned appropriately. After all if the day doesn't work out you could say "at least I have chicken" :p .

I found it hilarious how they basically asked an openly religious company their views on a topic, and when they disagreed with them, they got all mad. Its like going to a republican convention and demanding to hear a democratic view, then getting mad when you don't.
