Sweet. Welcome (back) to the world of Magic.Just bought http://www.wizards.com/Magic/TCG/ProductArticle.aspx?x=mtg/tcg/phyrexiavsthecoalition/productinfo at target...and took the Phyrexian Deck...I always wanted a Phyrexian deck...
Very nice. I'm gonna start working on an Allies deck soon. The intro pack I bought the other day was for the sake of getting me a start on such a deck. I guess Allies weren't introduced until the most recent block (Zendikar expansion to be specific), but they're really cool. Most Ally type cards gain, or give, benefits to other Allies in your control. They also tend to have a fairly low deploy cost. It's easy to get a bunch of them on the field at once... at which point they're all gonna be pretty beefy. There's nothing tricky about the Ally deck I'd build, but I like a no-frills approach every once in a while. Gonna stick with red and green. I don't like tri-color decks due to the lack of a consistent mana base. My favorite Allies are green, and I could go mono-green, but there are some really good red Allies... and red instants are just too hard to pass up in a deck like this. Since the deploy costs are relatively low on Allies (especially in terms of color-specific costs), a dual-color deck should work well.I am currently pricing out my "Life Processor" deck...I made it myself, but it was around the time a Phyrexian Processor cost $50 just about anywhere...now that it runs around $4...I will probably be able to construct my ultimate deck within a year...
Unrelated: How do I pronounce your name?
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to read up on that.If you want to go allies I suggest bant allies(UGW). This ally deck is the only ally deck that I know of that has made a top 8 in a large tourny.
Anyone here registered with DCI?

Landfall is a really nice mechanic... when you're the one using it. My brother has a landfall heavy deck, and I wanna slap him for it. Not that I'm any better when trying to build an Allies deck that is getting bonuses for every deployed creature. lolAllies are basically Slivers, but they give all allies an effect involving coming into play. (If you don't know, Slivers pretty much all have an ability that reads: "All Slivers have _______" and then an ability)
Anyhow, my current deck is based around Landfall(also a Zendikar mechanic)

Eventually, I wanna build a white-blue aggro-control deck and a mono-black life drain deck. Mmm. Vampires. lol
Roil Elemental is so evil. My brother has one of those, and I'm like... "nooooooo!" when he uses it.My landfall deck is blue/green, so I have quite a few ways to rearrange my deck and get land, also Roil Elemental is quite nice(especially when paired up with a Living Tsunami)
I have about $20 to spend this week, and my opinions are... Buy some of the cards I need for my deck... Buy the Headblade for better shaving of my head... Or take advantage of the crazy steam sale...any thoughts?
havent played this since high school. amazing that it is still around
