That would indeed be sad. Of course, I didn't think it would take this long to select a colocation service this long after raising the funds, either.Let's do diss folks. :O Shall the deadline be... April 1st? Methinks yes. >=]
Bigger joke would not be getting our server by then. -.-
Awesome. Thank you.I'll see what I can come up with by Saturday.
Eh? You mean e-mail replies to quote requests?Waiting on a few e-mails. x_X
Many thanks, sir.I've sent quote requests to two places that I've heard of in Springfield, MO. (Absolutely no ulterior motives in finding a location here. Surely living 20 minutes from the data center wouldn't give me a huge ping advantage ) Both are large underground facilities that specialize in data security and I'm skeptical that they will be a good deal for as small a customer as we'd be, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to check. I'll let you know the results.
Thank you for your inquiry to 85Under. We would be happy to assist you with your data center needs.
Due to the features and security of the underground facility, we are often unable to compete with large server farms for low pricing. We don’t have the sheer volume of customers to allow for bottom line pricing on power, cooling, and bandwidth…but we are more of a specialized and customizable solutions provider. We offer 4 redundant bandwidth carriers and have the capability to burst up to 1 Gbps.
Our monthly fee for 10Mbps @ 95th percentile billing is $700/month. Is that something that is going to be in your budget along with the additional colocation charges?
p.s. we strictly monitor and enforce proper usage of the data center facility – no pornographic traffic or operations are allowed
thanks again and let me know if you would like to see a formal quote.
It's hard to know until we actually have everything up and running.I know we'd prefer unmetered, but how much realistically would we use?
Roger that.Just saw this thread...I know there are a few datacenters here in the OKC area...I'll see what comes up.
Roger that. As always, if you need any more info, just let me know.I'll start the search again soon, maybe I can have my brothers help for the summer.
