XP MC Edition is teh suck!!1!1

I have no idea why you are having those problems. My situation is: I do a bit of gaming - a ton of internet and email and wordprocessing - a good bit of photoshopping and some movie editing - and all our TV through the computer...

Vista was way better for me than XP - but Windows 7 has been flawless in everything. A huge improvement over both.

Sorry it hasn't been the same for you. I'm going to watch this thread to see if someone has the answers. I'd like to know.

Also, I never had any of the problems you described as being attributed to Vista, including the compatibility ones, at least none that I didn't also have with XP. And in my experience Vista definitely runs better.

Well, good for you and your good experiences, but Vista is known for compatibility issues... One example: I live near a large college, and they refused Vista because HALF of their software did not work properly on it, but they worked fine on Windows 7... And while working on my parents computer today, I had to do a few things on my brothers (he is using Vista) and I had nothing but problems getting stuff to install...was able to attribute 90% of the issue to the UAC, which after disabled fixed a lot of problems, but not all...

And now for the UPDATE: Everything is back to running fine here in XP land :)
