Does anyone have any idea why would Xfire ruin my internet connection?

A few years ago, downloaded and tried it, from the moment I play a game through the internet, it totally ruin my internet connection that I got annoyed by it. A high speed cable connection (2.5 - 4.0 Mbps) reduced to a 0.5 Mbps connection.

When I uninstalled Xfire, I had no internet connection problems what so ever.

As it shows today, I have played 1 hour of Starcraft: Brood War,
though, not counting the other times I was playing, during on-line in-game Starcraft that gave me many disconnections. -_-

Or as noticed from Steam:

I'm sure your Xfire works, but I don't understand what is so different with mine and yours?

Is it my OS problem again? What is it!?

this is really odd corp, cuz I also use 64bit and I don't have any problem with it and my internet connection. I also fail on that test with xfire, but I don't seem to be having any troubles with my connection speeds they still test where they should be.

Xfire ties into the "guts" (for lack of a more technical term) of Windows networking. I know that I wasn't able to run Covenant Eyes and Xfire at the same time if I installed Covenant Eyes first. CE also ties directly in to the TCP/IP networking, though I don't know the specifics.

Perhaps one of our more technically capable forum members could provide more insight?

Nah, I have given up already. I don't need to prove that I've played games for many years since my accounts are still active.

I had problems with xfire completly kicking me out of an online game that I might have been playing........

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't work.......

SO......I too have given up on xfire for the mere reason that I was sick of getting kicked out of the game I was playing.........
