Hey,

I have downloaded the WoWinstall.exe (for the client) several times and each time it says. Unable to install etc...I have deleted and cleaned all my WoW files off and everything else in between, so anyone have any ideas why it is not working??? As usual Blizzard is not responding so I thought i would ask some who might have some actual answers. :) Thanks guys!

Andy

If you're on Vista/Win7, you'll need to run the application as an administrator.

I think I tried that but I will try again. It keeps saying i need to close all programs down also. Along with being unable to install "wow" folder....if there are any other options I would love to try them too. Thanks Durruck for the help! I will let you know if it works.

Depending on the age of your computer, and the OS, you might want to try running a scandisk and seeing if it finds anything. I had problems installing patches and wow was crashing all the time. After a clean install of Windows and a clean install of WoW it was still crashing and having issues. I ran the scandisk, it found a bunch of errors, fixed them and everything ran smoothly again! I'd try the scandisk before the clean OS install though...

Thanks Sunbroe! I will try that this evening or tomarrow. :) It is my desktop and my laptop both though, so I it is a bit wierd for both of them to be doing it. Anyways, I will try my desktop first. Thanks again!

From the sound of it, it might be firewall or antivirus related. I know many software based firewall programs including Windows Firewall will prevent things from downloading and installing properly, one reason I don't use Windows firewall but Comodo instead. Also Antivirus programs have a nasty habit of preventing "clean" installs of programs especially those that require downloading large amounts of files. If you are running Windows XP or later try disabling Windows Firewall until you get it downloaded completely. For any other software-based firewall program there should be options to turn off specific features within its respective Control panel. The same thing goes for any AV program you are running whether it be Norton(typical culprit), McAfee(needs to burn) or any other AV program you use. Just disable them until you get WoW dl'ed and installed then re-activate them afterwards.
