WotlK Cinematic Trailer

It started getting good at the end, but then it ended. They should have had him show off a few of his powers and of course some fight scenes! Maybe show the new siege engines or air combat?

I think this is just the beginning, Blizzard has never been one to show their cards early.

Right on, the quality is as good as usual. Unfortunately it lacks what blizzard trailers usually cover. I think the cinematic they produced when they announced the game would make a better opening trailer then what they've put out.

I loved it, and like it even more than the first two intros (and more than WAR's as well). This intro really ties into the story of the expansion. The dragon Arthas awakens, Sindragosa, flies directly from the intro to the login screen and roars at you as you login to the game, AND it is likely to play a part in the final Arthas instance in the last expansion content patch. You can even go to that exact spot Arthas is standing on in the expansion. It's called Sindragosa's Fall and is a giant gaping hole in the glacier.

The previous two intros and the WAR intro are just really generic showcases for the classes and races in the game. This one shows a little of what Arthas has been up to since the end of Warcraft III (releasing Sindragosa and getting his army ready for something), and with his father's voice over talking to the pre-Lich King Arthas it seems like they are trying to make his story even bigger.

It looks like they are trying to turn the Arthas story into a Darth Vader-esque tragedy. Arthas has ALWAYS been Darth Vader in the Warcraft Story. Arthas = Anakin, Uther = Obi-Wan. Anakin was a promising Jedi who turned to the Dark Side and became Vader. Arthas was the prince of Lordaeron and a Paladin who turned to the Dark Side and became the Lich King. I wouldn't be surprised if they redeem Arthas in the end where you don't kill him, but he loses Frostmourne and as such is no longer the Lich King.

I agree that the WAR cinematic was pretty generic. The CG was pretty good, but not on the lvl of blizzard. And it did nothing to advance an actual storyline, other then the usual "this battle will decide the fate of the world" which I have seen a million times.

Ehh, I liked the narrative of this one, and it felt legendary, but WAR's was more epic and IMO, had better graphics. Skeleton armies? No thanks. :P
