Worst Guild Wars 2 news ever!

So... where are they going to put
10 skills
Profession specific abilities (up to 4 skills)
Weapon swap
Dodge
Interaction (E)
Jump
Sheathe

Will be interesting to see how they do it

easy, d-pad for 4 skills and then hold triangle and then use d-pad for 4 more skills.

And hey, if there's a console version of Magicka, who's to say what is and isn't possible (on a console)?

Thought I'd add that it's not confirmed as something they are going to do. The article is misleading. It is merely something that they are looking into. A small team is investigating it. Had a source, but I lost it now.

It's not the end of the world. I doubt they will dumb it down.

Now if the games total garbage, we can all blame it on this, even if, in fact, it had nothing to do with this.

PC gaming is better than console gaming. There, it's been put to rest.

This, like iOS vs. Android, like Windows vs. Mac, are all preferences. Neither is really better than the other, it all is what you prefer.

Take this into consideration. Someone like me, with possible CTS, playing PC games, especially ones that are not controller friendly, cause us great pain, and make those games very un-enjoyable. So to someone who can't use a keyboard and mouse to it's fullest potential and gets owned in PvP games because of it, you think PC > Consoles for them? Just saying.

It's not the end of the world. I doubt they will dumb it down.

Agreed.

And of course this is the reaction and blame everyone would do. It's funny, we can predict the stupidity of people before it happens, LOL! :D

I think it all depends on *how* they intend to do it. Are they going to have cross platform play (if by 'consoles' they mean PS3 exclusive, it could be a distinct possibility, see Dust514), each console gets a separate server, etc...

I'm not terribly worried about it being dumbed down control wise either. A skillbar has what, 10skills? Cake. They'd almost have to work on it to screw it up. (example they could get eight of the skills just by using the four buttons on the right and a single bumper, have a separate button for your Elite and Racial or something)

And I sincerely doubt they'd dumb down the game itself to 'pander to the lower intellects of the console people' as PC Elitists like to think.

I'll be..okay with it, as long as they don't attempt to modify the PC version to fit console gamers. It may be selfish, but when it comes to getting this game right, I think the PC version should get the "goodies" if you will. Like I said, it might be selfish of me to say that, but I just don't at all in any way want to see this game ruined just to make a buck.

I also don't think there is a need for alarm. This article in PCGZine is brief but clear - not much happening on the console version. And if they do - that does not necessitate dumbing down the PC version.

If there is a console version, perhaps we'll be lucky enough to have PvP with console vs PC (like the Counterstrike Global Offensive rumor). Then, the classic PC gamers still have the upper hand!

Did you care to even read my reply about people with CTS? Thanks for making me feel like I could never enjoy PVP in GW2. :(

No, I believe the sarcasm was directed towards the Counterstrike Global Offensive rumor and it being a good idea.

Also according to definitions, he did not really use sarcasm he was being facetious.

fa·ce·tious

1.not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.
2.amusing; humorous.
3.lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.

I think that it is easy to mistake a facetious remark as sarcasm (and take it personally, when it wasn't) , which I agree has no place in a Christian community. But being humorous and amusing does. :) It is one of the pitfalls of a text based community.

For example the title for this post is meant to be facetious NOT sarcastic. I intend it to be funny and not taken seriously. I did not mean this title to be a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark.

Hmm, I guess I need to try and view things in many different ways at the same time. Because once I read something, and it may seem mean or rude, it's hard for me to read it a second time and think amusing and in jest.

As a matter of fast I have taken many of the replies in this post to be mean and rude, and not really one of them amusing or funny.

Maybe I am too closed minded, but I am not seeing this facetious behavior and responses you see. That or I am just naturally negative. :(

You just hate all of us console gamers!!! :(((((((

...>.>

I jest. :P

Back to the topic at hand. As much as I want Guild Wars, I'm glad for the possibility of a console rendition. I sincerely doubt that it'll truly (negatively) affect the PC version. I'll go PC on this more than likely, but if my computer's not up to par for it and the console build is decent (like with DCUO and other games), it gives me a chance to get the game without new hardware investment. :D

Example, when I read "Worst Guild Wars 2 news ever!" I honestly think you meant, "This is the worst news I have heard about GW2, and I really don't care about those it may benefit, but only what benefits me."

So as you can see, maybe I just see the worst first. :P

Yeah always opt for the "humor view" when people posts these kinds of threads and you will be much happier. :)

See that is just too logical and deserves no place in a Worst News Ever!! Thread. My knee-jerk reaction to fresh news should not have to be put up against such rational thinking. /facetious
