We're pleased to offer a preview of the first global World of Warcraft Arena Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, February 16. Just so people are aware there are costs to setting up arena charters.

Per Nethaera:

The costs scale based on the size of the team for entry.

Here are the costs so that everyone is aware:

2v2- 80g

3v3- 120g

5v5- 200g

Have you heard anyone else talk about it that might not see this post? Trying to see if it is possible for me to group up with someone, or if anyone would even want a mage in their group.
 
Man, when I reach the lvl 70 plateau...the arena has to be the funnest pvp available. Short, intense pvp combat based on skill and gear(as always). It has blessedly short queue times too. I would also be fun to get to know a group of guildies better, play style and all.

seems like a priest, rogue, and mage would be an impressive 3v3 - heals, stunlocks, and sheeps. Maybe sub in a warlock for fear/seduce and massive DoTs

I'm also thinking that a hunter in the group would be great. I feel like tossing in the towel when I face them in pvp, especially if they are BM specced. Those pets and just insane.
 
I'd be up for a casual team. I'm not a real good pvp'er so I'm just looking for someone who is online from 7-10 pm server time who's just looking to pvp once in a while.
 
I would love to join an arena group, if anyone is interested I love to pvp (: and I would love to be a team mate.:D
 
Both my lock and priest would be willing to do this. Sounds fun. Anyone planning on leading this or should I start getting a list together for it?

From what I have read you can be on up to 3 teams. But you can only be on one of each type; 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5. You can have up to 10 people on a 5v5 team.

Sounds like fun.
 
I would like to set up an Arena team myself if anyone would be interested. I'm more interested in a 3v3 match up personally so if anyone is more into the 2v2 or 5v5, I wouldn't mind joining those, but I'd like to lead a 3v3 team.

The teams that are created can have up to double the amount of players. Meaning a 3 man team can have up to 6 people and a 5 man team can have up to 10. Obviously, only the required amount are in the arena at one time.

Quite a few people have expressed interest, but I'm not sure on what kind of teams you all were looking to join. If any of you would be interested in a 3v3 team (6 people total), feel free to post back on here or get in touch with me in game.




A few things to note that are important for everyone, regardless of whos team you're on.

"Your team only needs to fight 10 battles per week to be eligible for points. You can fight more if you so choose. However, due to the way the rating system works (and the way points are derived from rating), teams with high ratings are (in theory) increasingly likely to play only the minimum required number of battles."

"Level 70 is required" If you're interested in doing this and are not level 70 yet, let me know what level you're on and I'll see if we can't wait a few. I can also help you level if you're rather close. Just shoot me a tell.
 
Well, i plunked down the 200g, and did all the running around to get a team charter. The name of the team is 'Forgiven Too' (Chris - Reasonable came up with that) and we are in it for some fun *grin*. I will gladly invite you in if you want to try it out even on a temporary basis. We have a while before we will get at all serious, if ever so come on and have some fun.

First try will be Tuesday after patch (as in today, as I am writing this *ugh*)
