Work and Family Problems

I haven't been able to log on for about half a week right now. I'm working insane hours and am living on 30mins to 2 hours of sleep a day. We're trying hard to knock out this contract, but the hours are really getting to me. If you could pray about my ability to deal with this particular contract, as well as safety with sleep deprivation, that would be great. I really hope this contract gets done quickly, I don't know how much more of this I can take.

My younger brother is also going through a hard time. He's a brand new Christian, but he's slipping hard and going back down the path he had been walking. If more or less words, he is in the process of destroying his future for the most emotionally imbalanced, deceitful, and insane girl I have ever met. The whole problem is tearing at my family and it's dividing us. My brother, my family, and this girl all need prayer.

I'll bring these up on the prayer forums, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still alive. I hope I'll get some time off soon, I miss playing with you guys.

Whew, you have been noticed missing, thank-you for touching base with us. I will definitely keep both you and your brother in prayer. Please know that while you might be sleep deprived, you won't be prayer deprived - we got your back!

Thank you so much for the prayers! Last night, before I went to bed, I had it laid on my heart that I needed to ask for prayer. This morning, I was in a car accident that probably should have killed me, but I came out of it without a scratch. I could certainly use prayer for the aftermath of this accident, but I just want to thank you all again for the prayer.

My Wife and I will be praying for you in this time of trial, and need.

I don't know what specific kind of work you do, but it would seem to me that your employer is taking little or no care in its employees health. I know you say that you need this job financially(I read your linked post) but in the end, you need to take action and match it with prayer and faith. Prayer can give you the insight and the support you need, but only your actions will change your life. And from reading your situation, you could do with some change. This doesn't mean quit your job. It could be as simple as confronting your superiors about the seemingly insane hours you are working. It could mean finding a new job. It could mean changing careers. In the end, that is up to you, but from where I am sitting, it looks as something needs to change.

Wow, I will pray for you. It makes us all appreciate what we have, you seem to be getting storm after storm, hang in there.

Steel - I'm an Electrician who's working for a contracting company in South East Louisiana. The majority of our current contracts are from FEMA or companies sub contracting us who are working for FEMA. The majority of my work is hooking up the trailers and mobile homes to power lines and meters as well as running conduit and terminating panel boxes.

I love my career and the people I work with, I just hate this particular contract. I considered finding another job and I had a long talk with my boss about everything that was going on. They presented me with a 5$ an hour raise and would provide my transportation to and from work weather it be for 2 months or 2 years. They really don't want to loose me and we should be able to knock out this contract tomorrow. On top of that, they won't double shift anyone (after this contract) again and will offer Perdium.

wow, you have found favor that is great. I will continue to uphold you in prayer though as I know the work you are facing is not easy.

great to hear that your job is playing a role in the recovery effort and that the end of this particular contract is in site. We'll keep praying for your situation and your health to uphold.

Well, found out this morning that I didn't make it out without a scratch. I've fractured my sternum, but there's not a whole lot you can do about it, except wait for it to heal. Guess it's a good thing that all I've been doing the past two days is QC on the panel boxes. The contract is finished and I've got the next 4 days off, I can't wait to log in.

Financially, the car accident isn't going to cost me (or anyone else) a thing. My Uncle's wife had just switched to a new insurance company before they gave me the car and they said they could take it on without hurting his insurance a bit. Since the car is insured, even though I wasn't on the insurance, they aren't going to file me as an uninsured driver. Everything will be no problem, as long as this guy doesn't decide to sue over personal injury, but he said he was OK on the crash report.

Thank you so much for the prayers! :)
